No, I haven't sent my registration papers in. Litters are registered to the breeder. I have kept the registering slip but never sent it in. It is best to make sure before you buy that the litter is AKC registered if in the United States and to be informed enough to be able to look at a pedigree and know if it is a good one or not. Even if your looking for a pet puppy you want to know that they are breeding healthy lines. I suppose the registration papers could be helpful if there were a custody battle. Having the dog chipped would be very helpful as well. |

My last two cents, in my humble opinion, just register that dog , I don't care with what registry is one more paper to proof YOU own that dog.. AKC preffered but I know if your dog is registered with ANY registry, just do it.. I always side with the better safe than sorry way of thinking.. hugs, |
