World's Tiniest Terrier 1 Attachment(s) This miniature dog has got her sights set on a supersized title: Guinness World Records’ World’s Smallest Dog Terrier crossbreed Suni weighed a miniscule 0.1lbs (45g) when she was born, and three months later at 2.36in (6cm) tall she is still smaller than her owner’s mobile phone. Although Suni’s weight gain since then hardly breaks the scales - she now weighs 0.22lbs (100g) - veterinarians in Jarocin, Poland, do not believe she will grow to be much bigger. Owner Anna Pohl hopes that her small dog has got what it takes to win the big crown. ‘When she was born she was so small no-one thought she would survive but she has,’ Ms Pohl said. She has been in touch with Guinness World Records officials to see if Suni measures up for the title. ‘She is a lovely little thing but you have to be very careful where you sit and where you walk,’ said Anna. Although it seems Suni is currently the world’s smallest dog, she will not end up in the record books for a while. Her owner better have her fingers crossed Suni doesn’t have a growth spurt within the next nine months, as Guinness World Records will not crown her before she is 12 months old. The current record holder for the world’s smallest living dog is Boo Boo the chihuahua from Kentucky in the U.S. Measuring in at four inches tall, she has held the title since February 2008. Suni has competition not only in Boo Boo but also in a Puerto Rican teacup Chihuahua called Milly, who at four months weighed in at 0.37lb (170g). Small dog, big dreams: Tiny terrier Suni hopes to be crowned world's smallest dog as she is dwarfed by her owner's phone | Mail Online |
she is cute |
yuck, to me not even cute and a crappy record to shoot for, she should just get a mouse as a pet |
........omg................ |
Poor cute little baby has a hard road to hoe growing up that tiny. Hope her momma is supervigilant and keeps her safe from the edge of the couch, bed, away from hyper kids & bigger dogs, etc. One big paw swipe down on her....... I sure hope she takes a big growth spurt despite her mommie's wishes to achieve a world record and can get some size on her little body, live as dog-like a life as possible. Godspeed, little one. |
Awwww.....too cute! |
waaaay too small for my liking...I'd be terrified! Poor thing, she is cute though. |

I agree with Donna, sick. Not any record to shoot for, nature fluke or not. That little puppy will need more than prayers. |
 Oh my goodness. Please may I just add, even though this is reported in a British newspaper, the breeder is Polish....'over here', ours are little Yorkshire Puddings....:) Sally + Harry x |
Poor dog :( Looks like her body can barely hold up her head... |
And her owner is hoping she doesn't have a growth spurt - stays that frail and tiny forever!!! |
That's unbelievable, I'd be afraid to even let it walk around the house. |
What a cute little Minifuz. We all hope that it grows up healthy. Unfortunately, many of the super small do not. |
OMG! she is SO CUTE!!! but as others have said...I wouldn't want a dog that small...you would have to carry her around all the time so she wouldn't get hurt Mine are 7 1/2, 6 and 4 1/2 lbs and I worry about stepping on them! |

OMG <--- look my letter are bigger than this dog  Waaaaaaaaayyyyyyy to small, just think of it, you would constantly be wondering where he was, did you suck him up in the vacuum, did he go under the bed or couch and cant find his way out and he is so small how would you ever hear him bark?? the stress would be overwhelming. Give me 12 lb Charlie any day LOL |
I too hope for a growth spurt and a healthy life for that wee one!. Does holding a record in Guiness book come with a cash prize? |

Once people win these prizes they often get money for personal appearances, depending on how interesting the category is. I have to wonder how this little dog is being treated since the owner obviously wants to get the record. The little one's body looks too small for the head. Will she feed it properly or keep it on a diet to discourage weight gain? A tiny dog like that is not normal and at a terrible disadvantage. I hope they don't want to breed the poor thing. I doubt very much that it is a fluke. There are people all over the world that are in on the tiny breeding scam. |

It does look small enough to keep in a cage, rather than like a dog, that runs around the house. I've never figured out the fascination with having the tiniest pup/dog. On youtube, you can see vids, were owners seem to be bragging how small their dog is. I don't get it. Bragging how well trained, now that I get, it takes time and skill after all. I have no problem with having a teapot or kettle, once I get my yorkie. lol |
World's Smallest Dog I think this little girl has a long way to go yet. Looking at the size of her head in contrast with her body, she could have several potential medical problems. Hopefully not. Maybe she will just grow some and be normal. I would be very uneasy if she were mine. Everything from hydro to liver shunt can cause them to be born so small. |
https://www.facebook.com/GuinnessWorldRecords I just posted on their facebook page, join me in telling them this is not a good record to encourage people to try to achieve. this is what I posted, Is Guinness pro Animal Cruelty???? if not then please stop rewarding someone for having the smallest dog on record. By offering someone an opportunity to own the tiniest dog on the planet you are encouraging people to breed for this. Because there are serious health complications for tiny dogs, they should not be purposely breed to be freakishly tiny. Females 4 lb and under have difficulty carrying and delivering puppies, often it leads to complications and death. So by offering a world record for smallest dog there are be people recklessly breeding just to get their name your name in your book. If you care about the well being of dogs you should take that category out. |
Done Donna, good idea. |
