| YT 1000 Club Member | If any of you have previously restrained your Yorkie from a "chase", please consider how you might do that safely (long leash/confined area). The probability of an actual "catch" is unlikely, our little guys just aren't quick enough to do that usually. (possible for those who are well practiced and in very good shape). This natural activity is really good for them psychologically and physically. (remember to praise them highly, even when they miss)

| Last night Elvis almost caught a trespassing rat! Caught him in my arms and wow he was flipping rolling kicking and snarling. He's my lil shadow and he tried so hard to get away from me. That rat has no idea how lucky it was!

| YT 1000 Club Member | concretegurl, As I recall, Elvis is up around 12 or so Lbs...that right ? Given my guys have access to outside nearly 24/7, if a Rat (or anything else for that matter) happened onto the property, there would have been no "luck" at all. They are very observant, keeping an eye out from accesses to windows on the first and second floors, and wait with great anticipation for such an event. Yorkiemom1, I am SO into "letting Dogs be Dogs"

I agree but we live in rabies capital USA and I declined the lepto vac so I would rather chase the vermin out myself. Not trying to exaggerate but this rat could have eaten a kitten! I didn't think it was a rat at first because it was so big...and it had the nerve to giss at me grom the fense!

| Joel only cares about birds but with the guinea pigs he loves to sit nicely at there cage and watch them walk around, he used to try to chase them but he knows if he does that he has to leave the room, so now he's really good with them Last edited by ilovejoel; 10-03-2012 at 02:35 PM. |

| YT 1000 Club Member | concretegurl, If it saw Elvis trying to get at him... maybe it wasn't a "hiss"
