Aw...congrats, both your pups are adorable! :) |
It's really hard to gauge the actual size of a pup from a picture so I would not venture to guess about the actual age of your puppy. I don't care much about the papers that my dog has either. My dogs have always been pets but I have always tried to buy from people who are breeding to get offspring that are as close to the breed standard as possible and who can show me a decent pedigree. I don't even send in the registration papers. That is not important to me but the pedigree and background is important to me. CKC is not a vaild registry. It is an organization that will register any dog and allow the owner to call it any breed as long as ckc gets their money. CKC is a red flag to me. Time will tell how old your puppy actually was when you purchased her. Some breeders do try to sell pups that are under age in order to make the buyer think they are selling tiny puppies that will grow to be a tiny dog. Hopefully that is not what has happened here. I'm not saying your puppy is not adorable. It's the breeder I would have questions about. |
I know how you feel. I got Pixie at 8 weeks and I was furious. My S/O bought her for me, so I didn't see her until after the fact. Add to that we live in different states.. When I saw her, and checked her teeth, I swore that he'd been bamboozled and that this puppy couldn't be any more than 5-6 weeks old. I even had two of my dog friends check her out, and they all said the same thing, 5-6 weeks old. It wasn't until I took her to the lady that became my yorkie mentor that I felt better, because she told me that Pixie was in her experience indeed about 8 weeks old. Had she not reassured me, I would have gone on saying that this guy lied about her age as he'd lied about so many other things, lol. |

Yes I did, and she got a clean bill of health and the vet also said that her age was correct.. But I didn't believe the vet, because I'm such a know it all :yelrotflm I mean, she was just so TINY, and her teeth were barely in, my mind said there was no way she was the age I was told she was. But when the yorkie expert said she believed Pixie was indeed the age I was told, and that she was just a leetle peanut, THEN I believed, lolol. I believe my exact words were something to the effect that you're the breeder, you know this breed of dog, I'll take your word on it. |
