What exactly is my baby girl?

My puppy has white on her, quite a bit of it. The lady I got her from said she was a yorkie but I think she bred her Yorkie with a Briewer ..... soooo, my question is, What exactly is my baby girl? My husband picked her up and recalls her saying she's half Yorkie and half Briewer. Oh so much confusion:(. I love my baby regardless, but I am just curious.

She is 100% adorable I know that much;) I have seen Yorkies with white on the chest (I think). I know other people here have more expertise.

I just wanted to say "Awwwww!" I don't know what kind of yorkie/biewer mix she might be but she is so very adorable! I'm interested to see what her coat will look like as she gets older :)

She is a parti carrier most likely she can be test for it.

That white on her chest may disappear though as she gets her permanent adult coat especially if that is the only pkace she has any evidence of tricoloration.

Rarely but sometimes traditional pups will have white on their chest abd actually retain it, they are not tricilored nor carriers of it but have the white chest. I beleive its actually called an abcent of color spot or something like that.

I hope a breeder more knowledgable can explain the white chest thing.

As a lay person my semi educated guess says she's a "parti" girl lol. If bred, she might give birth to Biewers and / or traditional Yorkies.

She's a partier carrier yorkie. Just like my boy Lenox.

What's the difference between parti and Biewer?

I will let a PROFESSIONAL BREEDER answer that. I have both. Chelsea is my biewer. And Lenox is my parti carrier boy. Austin is my traditional yorkie boy.

They are cousins per say, one was taken and manipulated the other loosely manipulated and continually bred back with traditional colored yorkies.

That was the best and easy way it was explained to me.

A biewer due to its line is not eligible to be registered AKC while a parti is AKC.

I dont see how it can be parti when she said either the sire or dam was a biewer. I know the coloring is the same but it would be a biewer carrier. Ive never heard a biewer person refer to a yorkie bred to a biewer as a parti carrier. Like I said I hope a biewer person comes on because I only know what Ive read

I was told a Biewer Yorkie mix will test as a parti carrier, they DNA the same so the terminology is the only diff never heard the term Biewer carrier ???

Thank you. His hair is thick. I have to keep him in a puppy cut since its very high maintence to manage. Chelsea, my biewer is every higher in maintence..LOL

The one with the best hair is Austin, my traditional yorkie. His hair is shiny and silky. He has better hair than me..LOL!!

I read on the YTCA article traditionals born with the white star its a sign of "quantity" of hair...I wonder if that's true through with carriers.

They have a name for it and Ive racked my brain trying to think of it its not carrier but another name

I know about politics but even though they are essentially the same dog as far as color they come from different lines the biewer comes from gernan lines thats why I dont get how their offspring could be called parti carrier. Also a parti carrier could be registered akc where this dog with biewer as the parent couldnt be but could be registered by one of the german biewer registries

I think sometimes the term parti is a little easier on the tongue than Biewer lol. Ive learned about Biewer before parti Yorkies. WHAT MAKES IT A BIEWER YORKIE

If she said that your baby is biewer/yorkie then that is exactly what she is. I breed biewers and this is normally called an F1 Biewer. One parent traditonal, one parent biewer. You could also call her a "parti carrier" but since you were told she is 1/2 Biewer, she is 1/2 Biewer. A "parti" is AKC registered. She is adorable and that's really all the matters :)

That's where I think the politics come in...again I'm just passing on what I've read, but parti means partilialy colored as white is considered ab abscence of color ir a broken coat etc etc Now its meaningalive is notthe just baseddifferent on thethe presebts of whitethe but DNA, and proofthe of pievaldthe or Ithe forget thethe other gene...many say tricolored not parti the terminology confuses ne especially when people debate it-same words different meanings different words same meaning.

True but a black and tan from German lines is not the same as a parti from america to german biewer to american black and tan...?

I've just never heard the term biewer carrier it sounds weird to me.

I however have no doubt its used though, or if there is another specific term.
I just watched a HUGE debate over a breeder mixing parti yorkie to biewer...the parents were identical! The issue was what they were to be calledREALLY Yorkie mix Yorkie Yorkie Biewer mix...and more importantly how the pups could only ve registered IBC and the stud was AKC...I can't even get into the whole Biewer Yorkie vs Viewer a la pom pon.

Joels breeder said he's a parti carrier, doesn't really mean anything to me,lol but he had white on his chest and back paws but now it's just some on his chest. I was really sad when I cut the last white part off his feet.lol

A parti is a also called (oh my sonetimes) a tricolored yorkie...a yorkie with white on it.
They look exactly like Biewers. Partis can be AKC registered as long as botg parebts were AKC (full registration). Partis are not YTCA accepted and cannot be shown on their shows, but they are Yorkies.

A parti can cone from traditional colored yorkies that carry the parti gene...thise are called parti carriers
