I consider this situation much like when a person has a first born child. Get the big things that hopefully they will not out grow. Like beds and car seats, some bows and grooming bands. Don't forget the proper metal combs and pin brush. A nice puppy playpen seems to be a must as well as pee pads and a holder. A few little outfits. Remember that tiny puppy is going to grow rather quickly and much of the clothing will not fit for very long. I have seen so many items for sale that people did not realize their pup would out grow. Pet purses especially. Try to wait and see what size you puppy will actually be before you put out too much money. |

I am no help with this. I usually order chews and a few other thing EVERY month and then there is the sewing addiction making things for Mina to wear and the hairbow addiction making bows to match the outfits. Oh and I have to walk through Ross,Petsmart,Petco and TJMAXX every month to see what is new. |
All I can say is "prepare to be broke for the first year" theres so many things that your baby just must have. They will choose what they like best anyway, some shampoos are better on certain hair- some brushes brush better, some clippers are better than others ,some clothes fit better than others, and when it comes to beds well my boy has 2 downstairs- one upstairs -three at work and a cushion for outside. A car seat in my car and a pillow in DHs car + a toy box full. I nearly forgot all the different kibble I tried to get him to eat. Spoil them rotten they love it.;) |
Thank you everyone for giving me a "heads up" on things headed my way lol. I spoil my skin kids and so does everyone connected to me, so I really don't see it being any different for my fur baby. I am constantly giving away clothes and shoes that my two year old is not wearing or has outgrown. When I had to clean out his nursery to make room for his "big boy" things I gave away bags of things many of them with the tag still on them:rolleyes:. Retail Thearpy just seems to work for me:D |
