I agree with Yorkiemom1. Hypoglycmeia is not corrected without intervention. Once the blood sugar is low it has to be brought up with nutrition. It's good that you are making sure she is eating. I would go easy on the treats and make sure she eats the amount of puppy food she should have for her age/size since this is what she gets her important nutrition from that helps form healthy bones and organs. Getting her accustomed to eating sweetened food could cause eating problems later. Only use Karo syrup in an emergency not as a regular thing. If you have any real hypoglycmeia Nutri-Cal is very convenient to have around. I hope your vet can make a correct diagnosis for you. |
Hello and Welcome to YT. I know where Jackson is, the Apple Festival place. You may need to make a trip to Columbus. I have a cousin that lives there and when her dog had a hard to diagnose problem she found a Vet in Columbus that knew exactly what was going on. I will see if I can find the link. vet.osu.edu/vmc |
Hello all. I am sorry it has seemed as if I have fallen off the face of the Earth. I have been really busy keeping up with this beautiful puppy that is growing so fast. Also I am still learning how to use this site, but I plan on becoming part of the family around here if you all will have me. I have learned so much while watching my little Gracie grow. I have to say I could not be happier. Even though she is my first Yorkie she will not be my last. I am hooked!! But I wanted to give you all an update on how she has has been. Like one of you suggested I took a video of the seizures and showed it to the vet. She wanted me to just watch her and try to give small amounts of the syrup. But I am glad to say that maybe 2 1/2 to 3 weeks later they just stopped. No one has a 100% explination. But I am just happy she is healthy and happy. Her ears now stand up and her hair is getting longer. I am still deciding if I want to let it grow out (not show length) or if I want to keep it the puppy cut... leaning to growing it. I also have learned and mastered bow making. So every day she has a new hair bow in her hair. She is so spoiled lol. I want to thank you all for taking your time to care about my baby and give helpful suggestions. Now I have a happy hyper normal yorkie who loves to tear pieces of paper in a million pieces if given the chance lol. |
