Ok so my Georgia does not have fleas but my sister's Yorkie does. Well, they only saw one on him so far. She is already treated with some ointment to kill fleas that you put one once a month. and he's sleeping over and is sleeping with my Yorkie.

Question is, should I be worried about her catching fleas? Let alone should I be worried about my house vein infested with fleas?(I have half wood floor and half carpet. They are on wood floor)

AND, what should my sister do about her baby? Can he still spread fleas around wood floor?

HELP. HELP. HELP.

Ok, so if a Yorkie was given away for free, can/should the previous owner still have ownership of the dog? Like naming wise, breeding wise and wanting to visit constantly?

That's what happened to me. My husband's friend gave away his 5 month old Yorkie to us because his girlfriend is irresponsible and we decided to give her to my oldest daughter who is 5. She was so happy but didn't like the name do she wanted to change it. We were fine with it but the previous owner would NOT allow it AT ALL. I was pretty upset because it was for y daughter and our puppy didnt know her no yet.

Is this fair on my daughter's part? To receive a puppy as a gift and not be able to name it?

JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY.

We ended up keeping her original name due to dramas from the previous owner. Now my daughter just calls her girl puppy instead of Georgia because she doesn't like that name.

The flea won't die till it bites the dog. Is your pup on flea preventative? If no, might be good to get him on some. Table salt sprinkled on the carpet and left overnight will dehydrate fleas, which then can be vacuumed up in the morning. Don't forget to empty the vacuum and put the trash outside right after vacuuming. Keeping the dog's bedding washed should help stop any infestation along with frequent vacuuming and treating the dog with a preventative.

Yes my dog is on the liquid thing that kills fleas, ticks and all. I put it on every month. But I'm more worried about my sisters dog and it infesting my house! Eeek!

No, fleas need to feed on an animal... they can't survive in the house without a food source for long. That's why treating the dog breaks the cycle when one has an infestation. As they jump on the treated dog or cat for a meal, they die.

Yeah, if they are both treated with a quality flea medication you should be fine. Most good flea meds kill all fleas that are on the body within 24 hours of application. If your sister had fleas in her house it may take longer for her to be rid of all fleas. Usually if you see one you can be quite sure there are many more. The only way to really tell is to take a flea comb and go all through the whole body. One flea can lay up to a thousand eggs in a home.

If the flea medication has been on your sister's dog for over 24 hours you should be OK especially since you also treat your dog.
