Something weird, help please... Last night while watching tv, Miss Priss turned her head at a angle and I swear it was like an emerald green. Ray said that he has seen her eyes do that several times. Please if anyone knows what is going on? She acts perfectly healthy, eats and poos regularly, plays like a rockstar.:D.Please let me know if you have heard of this..I will take her to the vet Monday and have her eyes checked if need be. |

No worries mom. She's fine. |
Exactly what the others have said. |
Bless you both, I was really upset, her coat is silky now and doesn't tangle, very shiny too..I had only seen it for like a nano second but it was a flash of emerald green..I am so thankful for this site. Sometimes she can make me a basket case. |
Thank you, I feel so relieved..will I ever learn it all about Yorkies?? |
No Worries Joyce. My babies flash green eyes sometimes. It looks a bit spooky, but as far as I know, it is harmless. |
Thank you Teresa, I was afraid that she was going blind or had some kind of eye disorder. I went off on Ray, my DH when he said he had seen it several times. I told him that if he ever seen anything off or just not right to always tell me...I so appreciate all of you here at yorkie talk.... |
So glad it wasn't anything. Yorkies seem to be famous for making mommies worry! |
We spend alot of time outside at night. ( We smoke, but never in the house lol) anyway Laddy has the green eyed monster look alot when the light hits his eyes at night. |
It is weird how different our babies are when they shine in the light. I have two whos eyes glow yellow, one that glow the green you speak of and than there is our demon child :devils2: Ruby named after a demon on Super Natural whos eyes glow Red . Didn't know that at the time we named her. Hubby is a fan of the show and she certainly lives up to her name sake !! |
Yes, they are something to worry about but so glad that this is a natural thing. I had called my vet so many times when Yoshi was a puppy and now I know that I can check with ya'll before running to the vet. Thank ya'll again, I love it here. |
1 Attachment(s) Yep, nothing to worry about. I love it when I see the green eye shine. When you take pictures of your girl you will see the green eye shine in the picture. I have attached a picture of my 9 month old Sonny that shows the green eye shine. Usually if a pup has a red or orange eye shine it means the coat will be cottony or soft-coated. |
:D Joyce, Harry's flash green sometimes too, especially in 'certain' light or at certain angles :) I used to think he was jealous.....;) :D Sally + Harry x |
If the light hits Callie's eyes a certain way hers do the weird green thing. Its just the light kinda like when you take a picture and there eyes come out a different color then normal. |
I'm so glad it was nothing Joyce...I don't think we will ever learn all there is to know about these babies. I too learned something new yet again here today. I love this site. |
No worries you are just being a good dog mommy! |
emerald green Just take her picture sometime! Graysee's eyes ALWAYS come out green with a flash. In bright light, at a certain angle, they are green; other times, they just look like normal eyes, with brown irises and black pupils. See my Graysee's pics, and you'll find green eyes! |
Some Yorkies with different coats have reddish eye shine. |
Glad it wasn't anything serious! :) |
Charlie's eyes are always bright green in pictures, we have to touch them up sometimes because it takes away from the priceless expressions and antics. |
Her eyes are normal but at certain angles I see the green. I so love my little girl and just want the best for her. I'm glad that I have all of you for my crazy questions. LOL |
I love seeing their eyes reflect its really neat when they are outside in the yard and you cant see them then shine a flash light out there and there they are glowing eyes looking at you lol I have a video of a greyhound I had as a kid growing up he was outside running all over the yard and I was filming him well the light on my camera reflected his eyes so while watching the video all you can see are two bouncing green eyes with barking coming from the same direction. I wish I could post it on here its pretty funny to watch. :) |
