Am I the only one? Hiya, I'm just curious if I am the only one here that refuses to put bows in their Yorkies hair? Ok I'll admit I did buy her a little pink hoodie that says puppy angel on it but I draw the lines at a bow! Don't woory her hair is trimmed around the eyes, I'm aware of that. I love my yorkie to death but the bow thing... sorry I can't bring myself to do it. I'm a 5'11", 185 pound guy and I just can't put a bow in my dogs hair! Please tell me I have some sympathy here  |
Im 5'7 female, and I dont put bows in my dogs hair either! They dont like them, plus they would eat them if they could! They love sweaters though! ;) |
I tried putting a bow in Buddy'd hair...once. He did not care for it at all. So I just keep the hair trimmed around BUddy & Jake's eyes. Besides, they are boys. |
I'm a girl, and I don't like bows on Yorkies either. Otis has a puppy cut and he wears a spinner cap like in my avatar. |
Gosh! Harbinger...Your Yorkie and her attire is all up to you. If you don't see a bow then so be it, I am sure your Yorkie is much loved just the same. Of course I am a fan of bows, but I don't use them daily on Schatzie, just 95% of the time. But I admit, If I was out with Schatzie on a non-hair bow day and someone came up to me and said something unkind like "heah, Yorkie's are to have bows in their hair", Id probably slap them! :D |
My husband doesn't like the bows either. Hes outnumbered though since there is myself and our daughter in the house. We just put them in when hes not around. That way theres no complaining about the dog lookin' too girlie. |
The 1st time I put a bow on Luigi, my hubby had a fit. Of course, it was red and had hearts on it, so I didn't blame him for being a little upset. So we compromised and I told him that if I did put a bow on him, that it would be a more masculine bow!!! So I ordered him lots of sports teams bows!!! And lots of boyish color bows too!!!! :) :) :) |
dont put them in toby's hair either./ my fiance would kill me if i tried :p |

(for those that don't know the NHL is in a lockout by the owners and the season cancelled) |
I put a blue latex type thing in Stewie's hair before my boyfriend came home (not a bow, just a band... and a BLUE band at that) and he flipped. He said "do not ever ever put a boy in my son's hair again!" haha! I'll admit it. I just wanted to get a reaction. I am not a fan of bows, but they look sweet on special occassions I think. |
Maybe if I had a girl, but I don't want bows in Frankie's hair. I want him to look scruffy and boyish. |
We're really missing the NHL this year too. We are big time hockey fans. Our son used to play on a traveling team. Unfortunately we never got to Toronto although we've been to everywhere else it seems. |
I'm a girl and my boyfriend thinks that putting a bow in my little boy pups hair takes away from his masculinity! I totally agree. |
Hey, I don't have my Yorkie yet but I don't think I would put a bow in his/her hair... Also, I'm upset about no hockey being from NYC where I have 3 teams (albeit boring ones) that are not playing... |
There is no such a thing as taking masculinity away from male dogs with bows...if it had, what about neutering? It is a personal choice...my Mojo always has a topnot, maybe even litte cute blue or black bows...and he is not less of a male because of that. When i have a female she will also use bows, i wanna keep them with a full coat and i think it would look kind of stupid having everything but the hair on the head long...and if you ask me the mullet haircut does not look good on Mojo (been there, done that) But that is just me, it doesn;t make the dogs less of a male or less than a yorkie to have bows. That is a human preference and it is up to us to choose.:D |
