| So many questions about my new Shorkie Just purchased my adorable little shorkie today. He isn't quite ready to come home with us yet so we have to wait another two weeks. I was just wondering what the best food to put him on would be? I plan on asking the breeder what kind he is already on but i was wondering what other ppl use for their yorkies. |

| Welcome to YT! Fromm, Acana/Orijen, Royal Canin, and Blue Buffalo (among many, many other brands/types of food) are pretty popular here. If you ask 20 different people , you'll get 20 different responses of what everyone's babies do well on, so it's really a matter of what works well for your pup! There are tons of suggestions in the YT Health & Diet section. You'll want to feed either a formula specifically for puppies or some type of all-stages food with higher protein/fat content that growing pups need. You might even check out the 4 or 5 star foods on Dog Food Advisor just to see what's out there Best Puppy Foods Be sure to post pictures of your baby when you get him! |

| I feed Royal Canine kibble but once a day I soften some with hot water and add boiled chicken and vitamins to it for their evening meal.

| Personally, I am against feeding grains to my dog. I know there are a lot of different opinions about this. When Gracie refused kibble as a puppy I started cooking for her until I could find a solution. She pretty much made the decision for me by refusing any food I made with grain in it and scarfing down the food that I had only added sweet potato to. I guess she thinks she is some kind of a dog food connoisseur. |

What's your recourse>? One recall on one factory in Missourii when they have 7 factories and the others never have had ANY RECALLS. In fact their reports were all of extremely clean human food grade standards and also Diamond self reported and CHOSE to recall due to an unknown source of contamination that spanned a 4 day period they recalled VOLUNTARILY food within a three month period. I'd like to see where you got your information, BTW the recall was initialed in a plant diamond had recently bought over from another company taking over their food brands....Diamond also had several recalls in previous years also voluntary based on the same situation self reporting of recently bought over manufacturing facilities...I see this as a company I'd trust more based on their record.
