Your yorkie's BIRTH name?! Hi everyone! Been doing lots of reminiscing lately as we are moving soon, and this is the place Luma came home with us, back in March. It''s kinda sad! But we're excited for her to have more space to play. Luma was born as Dolly!!! Her dam had a litter of two. Dolly Parton and her brother, Willie Nelson LOL! When I spoke with the breeder I told her to start calling her Bijou instead. The same night I called back and told her that she would be named Luma :p It's so strange to look at her and think, she would be named Dolly. So what was your yorkie's breeder(or shelter/rescue)-given name? |

Little Jilly's was - Dessert Storm (!!!!!) - kid you not. She was born a runt during that war or just before and only weighed 3 lbs. as an adult, was extremely fragile and dainty. Dessert Storm! Little Tibbe never had a name. His breeder, when I finally got to talk to her a couple months or so after I got him, said they had a "call name" for him that changed to whatever they could think of but never really named him anything! Scotty's papers are put away and it was so long ago, can't recall his name but it was long and fancy, as I recall. |

Rosie was born as Rosie. :D I added the Marie as her middle name. Hence, Rosie Marie. Mikki was born as Mickie. I changed it to Mikki and added Leigh. And she is now Mikki Leigh. |
Thank you for the taste comment. How sweet! :) Jilly always seemed like such a feminine, dainty name, just like she was. Scotty always seemed so terrier like and Scotty was my first terrier and all Yorkie so it fit his little spirit and ways. He never knew anything that flitted across his field of vision that he couldn't chase and obsess over all day and night. Yes, it is pronounced "Tibby" but why I spelled it that way, I'll never know. I just looked at him and there was that name spelled like that out of the blue in the front of my eyes practically, like a sign up there in my imagination. Can't explain or imagine where it came from! From no name to a sudden name in a heartbeat. It fits him somehow. He just is a Tibbe. |
Winston's name was Dublin. Don't think the others had names. |
Kaji was Bear, short for Bearacuda. I don't think he liked that name much since he never answered to it. :rolleyes: Instead of calling him Kaji Bear, like I planned to get him use to his new name, I just called him Kaji. He learned that name in a week. His full name when he came home was Kaji Peter. Peter after my alma mater's mascot. :) |

Well sadly I think Callie's was just female puppy or none. I didn't know about the extend of brokers and puppy mills when I got Callie and it turns out I got her from a broker who got his puppies from a Amish puppy mill. The name I put on her non AKC papers when I sent them back was Princess California (I picked Callie before that)although I didn't know the name Calliope and that it could stand for Callie or I would have went with that. |

Her birth name was Natalie's Blessed Little Tatiana. It's a long name for a little dog! :) |

Jax was named Scamper by the breeder's daughters. His real name is supposed to be Ajax but we sorta forgot. :D So now he's just Jax. Eevee was called Ellie by the breeder, and was very nearly named Ivy by me. I ended up going with Eevee because it was easier to say. |

Scoobers probably didnt have a name he was in a pup mill, but the pound named him Scooby and listed him as a girl... Princess was named Tess Elvis was listed as #2 male according to the emails I was forwarded. |
I don't know what Sugar Baby's litter name was, but she has always been Sugar. I added the "baby" Curri Bee :bee: was called Foxy from birth. It fits, sort of, but wasn't my style. She was named after my favorite spice :wink: |
Ziva was called "Grace"- because anyone who got her would need a lot of grace in dealing with her- too quick/smart- the runt but leader of the pack. Abby was "Jane" - because she was sooo plain. I picked her for her personality not her looks and she is turning out quite good looking! I kept both litter names as their middle names. |
I kept both names the same :) Both boys are from Breny. Chase had a litter mate named Chance, and I kept his name Chase since that's his favorite game, and I love the name. Calvin was part of the six pack, with his siblings being Tommy, Chanel, Armani, Prada, and Gucci. I kept Calvin's name since that is what I knew him as since he was just days old ;) Breny picks great names! |
I have no idea what Sophie Kates name was at birth, I am assuming she was either "Female" or a number. I do know she was one of six in the litter and was second to the last one born. Her Mom's name is Anna Marie and her Dad's name is Chipper (both retired) and she has a Brother named Chipper also. I do know it took her maybe 3 hours to learn her name and now she comes to when called (when she feels like it). |
The 3 I have now are Rescue's. Willow was a breeder release to Rescue and her Foster named her Willow and I added Grace as her Middle name, so Willow Grace. Allie was a owner turn in to Rescue and she was Alex, I really didn't like that, so I named her Allie Nicole. Luci was a re-home, her name was Juicy. I really didn't like that, so she is now Luci Chevonne. |
I had the name Jaeger picked out before we got him, but was prepared to change it if it didnt suit him. The breeder was calling him Ewok-he was the only one with a silver raccoon mask and was very fuzzy in the face as a pup. I ALMOST kept it, but was reluctant because I am not a star wars fan. Im glad I didn't keep the name-his face is more long and not quite as teddy bearish as it was as a puppy |
Rocco's name was No-Name. the breeders kids could not think of a name for him, although the other 4 pups all had names!!!! Poor guy;thats why I gave him a big tough name!!!! |
Since I was getting my baby from my mom, she was always CoCo. Mademoiselle CoCo Chanel Johnson. LOL |
Our breeder had named KS 'Mini.' She was in a litter of 4 girls and was the smallest. All of her sisters had names that started with an 'M' too. I can't imagine calling her Mini! |
