Do your yorkies like to eat paper? Charlie loves paper. I have to keep paper out of his sight or he'll eat it. I'm not sure if that would be bad for his stomach or not. I do my best, but he still gets his mouth on it every now and then. Then he runs with it if he knows I seen him, so he knows he's not suppose to be eating it. |
my yorkie oscar eats everything. i am forever taking something out of his mouth... it really worries me at times... |
My two love to tear up paper towels and tissues. They don't eat them, just tear them to shreds for me to pick up! Obviously, I need to do a better job of keeping stuff out of their reach! ;) |
Toki loves receipts, coupons, and straw wrappers! I don't *think* that she eats much of them...she just loves to shred and strew the bits of paper across as much area of the living room that she can manage haha |
Dinky will leap to grab any paper. It is obvious that part of the thrill for him is that he is not supposed to have it. Once in a great while,we pretend to drop a paper, just so he can have the joy of me chasing him around to get it back. |
Sadie never did this, Lillie I nick name the paper shredder! She is now grown up and doesn't do it anymore...Bentley is the new paper shredder in the house...ANYTHING paper that he can get ahold of is shredded to bits! I'm constantly pulling stuff out of his mouth... |
Both of my guys know that Newspaper is for Potty, when they can't/won't go outside, and they don't ever chew/swallow tissue or regular paper, however... If/when I finish with some sort of paper container (cereal/other) they think that's THEIR property, and complain vigorously, until I relinquish and give it up to them. Then they tear it up in small pieces quickly. Becca is the worst of the two, and will get SO mad if Sneakers tries to take her piece away. I don't do this unless my back is feeling pretty good, it takes time down on my knees, to clean up the mess. But they're worth it, they have such fun destroying the container. ;) |

I've taught Teasell to drop it by saying Treat. Nutty but it works she loves to shred pper |
Morgan eats anything that hits the floor |
Bailey loves to get at the toilet paper! He got the end of it the other day and came streaming out of the bathroom with it like he was one of those baton ribbon twirlers. lol. He also will nab a section of the newspaper and run through the house with it. He see's me coming after him and b lines it the other way..lol. I love the innocents of a little puppy. He cracks me up. |
I dont know if its one of them or both> paper shredders! I've come home and found paper all over my living room, they seem to get a kick out of it! Usually it happens when I've just finished cleaning the house! Little monsters they are! |

My Coco is more into the toilet paper and paper towel rolls than the paper itself.. She knows when the toilet paper is almost finished and waits for the roll with great anticipation! |
Harley used to shred puppy pads and newspaper, but he stopped... however, The other day I caught him chewing on a new penny roll, and then I found cardboard in his room, so I grabbed a few pieces, and somehow, it turned out to be a gift certificate :( I found the pieces, I've yet to try and bring it in to use it, but there are a few chunks missing, hopefully they'll let me still use it. |
Oh yes!! And anything else she can get in her mouth, plastic, wood, steel, carpet...anything.. I learned my lesson thouhg, she got sick once when she stayed with my mother over a weekend we went away. She ate some wood, and I assume something else too, she ended up at the vet who had to place her on drip with overnight evaluation. I nearly died Now, I have baby proofed EVERYTHING and I trust to the best of my knowledge that she is no longer eating the entire house. |

Ha ha! That is too funny...I thought my Daisy was the only one! She will put anything in her mouth. ANYTHING! |
Peppy is too dignified to tear anything up, even as a pup he wasn't destructive. Lollie was a fun light hearted pup who loved to grab and run. She shared much of her puppyhood with her sister littermate and an orphan raccoon so she was kept pretty well occupied and didn't have a lot of paper shredding time. Little Orphan Annie, well she was another story entirely . |
Callie does not like to eat paper but she loves to tear up paper but its mostly tissue. She has learned to stop and not touch it if I tell her no so its its not a gross one I will let her go ahead and "kill" it then I will pick it up. |
Nope.Unless you count tp rolls... Its usually feathers wood ir plastic... The kids wish it was paper...homework papers specifically LoL! |
Dexter is eating my wallpaper. Got the hallway and the Kitchen. Don't know what to do. He only does it when he is alone. |
If my Holly is upset with me, she'll find pieces of paper and rip it up and eat it. |
I guess its a yorkie thing. lol I can't remember any of my other dogs in the past doing this. Yes, he will shred and/or eat anything paper and make a complete mess everywhere at the same time. If he sees that I see him when he gets a piece of some sort of paper, he'll take off running with it. And when I do finally catch him and grab it from his mouth, he's nipping (playfully) at me to get it back. |

Abby doesn't eat paper, but will shred Kleenex, and she has found the foil wrapper from a Hershey kiss and she has snuck that in her bed, unbeknownst to us! She doesn't eat it tho. |
Nope...sticks, leaves dried or fresh, and grass...dandelions, bugs and other things I'm sure...but no paper. Caught them trying to get a locust the other day...that can't be good |
My lil one thinks its lots of fun to tear papers, he likes to jump around with a lil yelp and tear the paper and then jump around like rabbit again and chew on them.. I am constantly taking things out of his mouth.. till now he has already chewed the contract paper from the breeder, bills, labels from toys, t-shirt and towels :) |
I have a foster who was driving me nuts eating mulch in my backyard. I had to spend all of our outside moments telling him to stop. One day someone said it was a fiber thing. I laughed thinking that was a joke. Well, when I started home cooking for Cookie (she is on a sweet potato and tilapia diet), I started giving my other pups sweet potatoes as treats. Sunny loves sweet potatoes! He started begging for them every time he saw me making Cookie's food; so I have been giving him extras. Funny thing....he no longer eats mulch!! |
