Lucy sleeps with me. She likes to nestle between my legs but I hate that. I move her to my side and eventually she stays put. I have a buttercup style bed in my bed, but Lucy prefers my side. Her crate is in my room with a bed in it. Lately she's been getting in it and hangs out there for awhile. She doesn't like the crate door closed. I think she stays close to me because she's still a baby. She's starting to locate her own preferred spots - which are not next to me. I was thinking about purchasing several beds for Lucy. I want her to have some choice on where to rest. Tracey |

Gracie has never misbehaved on the bed. Maybe it's because she thinks of it as hers since she has slept there since she was a baby. She is perfectly content to lay next to me. I think I have caught her watching TV on occasion. |
My three little ones sleep with us! Two of them cuddle and the other one sleeps on the bottom of the bed. :) |
We have beds in every room...no longer in the masterbath or baby's room though, we do this to coinside with ourrule: the dog beds are the dogs sancuary or as we tell guest and kids, if the dogs are on a bed do NOT bother them, if they want attention they will leave their bed and come get it. If they want rest or to be alone they will go to a bed...now to get the new skin kid to follow the rule. |
With me! I miss her too much if she doesn't. She does fine in her kennel overnight but she has pretty much slept with me every night since the day I brought her home. I'm as attached to her as she is to me ;) |
Keyra tried sleeping with us in the bed but she wanders on the bed too much but the biggest problem is even upto now if we decide for her to sleep on our bed she pee's all night all over the bed lol So now she doesn't want to sleep anywhere else but in her crate at NIGHT. She goes in and pretty much let's us know to close it lol. Her crate is cozy for her cuz I have a small fluffy blanket and I folded it inside of her crate and she snuggles up in there. In the daytime she has a little house and also a fluffy pad that she chooses to nap in :) |
Zoe has slept with me every night since I brought her home at 12 weeks. I wanted her to, if she isn't curled up to me during the night I wake up and reach my hand out to find her and she will curl back up close to me. We have a night time routine. I brush my teeth, then brush hers, she goes and gets a drink and comes back to the bed and waits for me to lift her up to go night night. She snuggles right in. I have never had a problem and love her next to me. |
Both of mine have slept with us since the night we brought them home. We enjoy having them close to us, so we never even thought of putting them in a kennel. |
When I brought Charlee home (she was 18 mths), I assumed she would sleep with me and my other dog (a mini schnauzer). Well she fell off the bed (or was pushed by my other dog) and since my bed is fairly high, it scared me (and her)...so she started sleeping with my Dad (who lives with me). We have quite the routine. We say bedtime, and then both the girls bee line for the bedrooms, Charlee to sleep with my Dad (up the stairs and waits for her treat), and Georgie on my bed. Both girls then settle in for the night. Dad usually covers Charlee with the corner of his blanket, she curls up and sleeps right through until I start "breakfast" in the morning. (She will also come out eat breakfast, potty, and then if my Dad is still sleeping, pop right back into bed until he gets up...she's not an early riser :p) Now, when I travel and take both the girls with me, Charlee sleeps in a soft carrier at the top of my bed next to my pillow and George sleeps where ever. Charlee has also been known to sleep with a friend of ours as well...She doesn't seem to worry too much about which human she sleeps with, but she is definitely not sleeping on her own :D |
I'd never had a dog sleep in my bed before ZoE. Growing up, my parents didn't allow dogs in the bedrooms...and most certainly NEVER on the bed. But now when ZoE stays the night with them if I'm out of town & can't take her with me, have a guess where she sleeps??? You've got it! On the bed :D It seems GrandKIDS & GrandPUPS get a whole new set of rules... It wasn't my plan for ZoE to sleep in my bed, but I got her when she was very young and she cried every night. I would hold her til she fell asleep, lay her in her crate, climb in bed and within minutes she'd start crying, so back up I'd get. By the third night I was EXHAUSTED, so I had her lay down on the bed with me & we both fell asleep. She's been there every since! Not a single potty accident ever in my bed....but she has puked on it a few times...yuck. |
Rosy always sleeps on the bed. She will get under the covers when cold and usually has her head on the pillow. Bojo usually sleeps on the bed. Sometimes if he is too hot or just wants his own space he will go under the bed to sleep. When he sleeps on the bed he likes to lay on my pillow with his head resting on my shoulder or neck. Sometimes they have to be skooched over because for little ones they sure like to take up some room or they are so close that I can't move without "disturbing" them. I know I know, all the gall of moving them! We let them sleep with us because we can't think of a reason not to. One is more of a cuddler than the other but why not, they are their happiest on the bed. |
No, I do not want her in my bed. But every morning at 5:30am, she whines and I come downstairs and sleep on the couch with her till I have to get up at 7:00-7:30am. |
Milo sleeps right between us. He won't have it any other way. He sleeps all night. He only gets up to go potty and right back in bed he is. |
Silly but serious question...for those who are married, etc. and little fur ones sleep with them...what if you want to...;) have relations? Sami sleep in a kennel downstairs cause I know she would not stay put in her bed in my room, and I do not want her in my bed. One day I hope she would stay in her bed and I would let her in my room. But I know if she heard anything from the two of us, she would think it is play time!! |
