I got my Yoshi from "Operation Little Dog". I know that when you adopt a rescue pup, you never know what you're going to get. But Yoshi is the best little pup ever! He was driven in a van from Indiana (where his puppy mill was closed) to Connecticut. I drove from my house in NJ to pick him up in CT. There were about 10 other dogs/puppies with him in the van ranging from 12 weeks to adults, various breeds. Operation Little Dog is run by AdoptaLab.org. After speaking with them during my interview, I felt fully confident that they were a responsible, legitimate organization. They feed their rescued dogs Eagle Pack/Holistic Select, have an in-house vet, don't allow adoptions prior to 12 weeks, have a good interview process/contract, etc. I was charged a $450 adoption/transportation fee & Yoshi checked out fine after his 1st vet visit. It was a wonderful experience & I would adopt from them again in a second. I agree with rescues too however, I did buy all 3 of mine from a breeder. It can be very difficult and frustrating sometimes to go through shelters and rescues. A friend of mine tried to adopt a cat through a shelter. She gave her Mom as a reference, because her Mom's pets did not have their yearly vaccines yet they said no...This has NOTHING to do with the person adopting...again...can be very frustrating...they will place a child in a home easier than an animal...Don't get me wrong... I LOVE animals and feel they should only go to good homes that will love and take care of all their needs but, sometimes I think they go a little too far....as in the case with my friend. |

I wasn't tarring and feathering anyone or using the same brush, just simply explaining. I do hope the OP is able to find her a new baby. |

You will find the right dog for you and your family. It took us a couple of tries before we found Bailey on Craigslist. So just keep on plugging and good thing will come your way. |
Thank you all for the opinions ... I have some good news though... I was looking thru the classifieds ( I know I know) I was just looking and for some reason decided to email one of the listings about rehoming 2 yorkies the post said they were 2 months old well the lady was gonna take them to a PetSmart to show them to another couple so I told her ok well if you don't sell them let me know so last night I got another email from her that she couldn't make it and she still had the male so she asked me if wanted to meet her there to just let her know so I called her and asked if she would drop the price because he's a rehome she said sure so we went and fell in love and I now consider him a rescue because he smelled like urine and had really long nails I also found out that hes a carrier of the parti gene and he'll be 12 weeks on Wednesday ... I'm getting him fixed so no parti babies for him ... He's had a bath and a nice new hair cut I'll post a pic from the computer the iPad doesn't let me oh and he weighs 4.2 lbs so he's gonna be a great size for us my kids and I are sooo happy he's a great addition to our family we named him Jasper :animal-pa |

Jasper I am so glad everything worked out. He looks precious!! |
Nice going! It seems things really happen when you want them to. Great looking little boy! |
I have never gotten a rescue from any rescue organization for many reasons, health problems, social problems, difficulty dealing with rescue people. I realize that you can have problems with the best bred dogs and at best anymore it is a crap shoot what you end up with, but at least your not making yourself asking for problems. Don't get me wrong I have taken in stray dogs all my life. I just take care of the ones that come to me. I would never let any dog go hungry or in pain. I have had the privilege to been owned by many fine dogs from Field Dogs to Standard Poodle, Keeshone,Bichon Frise,Sheltie, Cocker, and now Yorkie. These were dogs I purchased from well respected show breeders. Some had heralth problems, some went on to be healthy show dogs, all lived with me till old age. My opinion get a puppy from the best breeder you can find and can afford. Do not get a pet unless you can afford vet care, just the normal stuff is expensive, never mind the emergency stuff. If you do not have the funds needed for the best care, get a stuffed animal. Ok that is my opinion. |
AWWWWW he is so cute. Congrats on your new baby. |

Me too. I enjoy my life. I think the person who told you to get a life, was rude and snide. Here is a hug from us, Teresa & the gang XX OO |
