Lilo Kahlua is finally a therapy/agility dog
 
and i cant be prouder... she took her test this weekend and passed with flying colors. The tester said she was amazing and was the most focused dog she has ever met. She also said she broke all the litttle dog stereotypes and was amazed at how trained she was. we even did a little trick performance for all the people who were there and the crowd went wild.. im so happy that our number 1 goal came true. our next goal is to make as many people happy as possible.

on another note she also started her first agility class today (she took a try out run and was immediately placed in the intermediate class) and her time for the course beat all the other dogs and she was the smallest one there. :D the instructor was joking how all the big dogs were beat by a smaller dog who was running with a pink bow and pearl necklace. She sure surprised everyone. :)

she turned one last monday.. and we're already having such a fun 2nd year... I can already tell its the start of many new adventures for us... i cant wait to post videos of all the new tricks shes learned plus agility

Congratulations Lilo! Oh yeah...and mommy too. ;) You are one smart cookie. I had no doubt that you could do it. :) You show the big dogs how the little ones do it. ;)

I'm glad she has maintained her sense of style even though she is now an official working girl!:) Congratulations to you and little Lilo.

I have to say I would be afraid to have her out there with all those big dogs in the agility class. I hope they don't decide she is a tasty treat to play with!:confused:

Go Lilo! She is one awesome little dog. I love that she proves that Yorkies, even small ones, can do anything! Woohoo! So many people are afraid to let their little ones do things and this just proves it's totally possible. I can't wait to see her rock agility!

Oh I know what you mean... Some of those dogs get a real adrenaline rush after running the course and it makes me nervous that they're so excited and their instincts might kick in. I wouldn't want her to get eaten or bit. To them she might look like a bunny running the course:thumbdown:eek: the instructor even joked about how she looked like a flea jumping all the obstacles compared to the other dogs. I don't let her ever walk past them just in case. I carry her to the beginning of the course and carry her back each run & then hold her on my lap as we wait for our turn again. :) we're excited to be there but I'd prefer to be safe than sorry

Thanks.... :) mommy and I were a wreck the day before... You can never be sure that you're ever completely ready... It's like I have a little dog with a big heart. :D I go through phases of thinking we can't and then can do all the things we want to... Little dogs can do everything but just differently!

Thanks Brit. :) we would love to see more videos of Jackson. It's always good to show others that yorkies are more than just lap dogs... They're lap dogs & active dogs but in a smaller package !

Way to go!

I don't know if it's practical to do agility wearing clothes, but I found out by walking my girl in a brightly colored dress that the bigger dogs in the neighborhood looked really confused when they saw her... they usually see her as a rabbit!

Very Proud for you. I know how much time and work it takes to train a therapy dog.

oh she doesn't do it in clothes. :} just in a bow so she can see and her necklace because it has a bell. it just happens to also be both pink and very feminine LOL ;):p
