Mia's getting a baby sister!
 

As you may remember, in March, Mia (Patience) came home to George and I. She is from Lori's (aka- Maggiesmom_2007 ) beautiful girl Friday, and littermate to Peppermint. Well, Friday will be retiring soon, and had her very last litter on Mother's Day. I am bringing home the little girl. She will be 9 weeks old tomorrow. I get her Aug. 24 (15 wks.). A dear friend is bringing home one of the little boys the same day. The other two boys are being held back for showing. So, Mia is getting a new little biological sister. I love that we can have puppy play dates with Toby, and Lori can watch them all grow up together. George is making it clear that this will be HIS little girl. He named her Ali (I like it spelled "Allie" better), and he even puts a heart over the "i" when he spells it. OMGosh! Is this the same man? In just one year, Yorkies have turned my big, hulking, construction worker husband, into a sweet, baby talking marshmallow, and I've loved just sitting back and watching this happen. We are so excited, and counting the days until she arrives. In the meantime, Lori has been great about sending us lots of pictures. Poor Lola will now have two little monkeys tugging on her ears. Lucy sleeps most all the time now, so I don't think she will care very much. This will be our first puppy. I'm sure I'll be hitting the YT puppy library a lot! I couldn't wait to share our good news.

She is adorable! Congrats to you! How exciting! And yes, Yorkies can melt your heart. My dad is a construction worker and his favorite pet ever was his Yorkie Darcie. She was 2 lb of pure melting his heart. He was devasted when he lost her. My DH is the same way with Mikki. He got in trouble because he wrote dads girl on her belly! :eek: Took 5 baths to get it off! can't wait to see how Ali steals your DH's heart! :)

I was drinking coffee yesterday and my 14 year old son comes in and says mom do you know what dad was doing with that sharpie? I was like what sharpie? Apparently he was trying to write on Mikki again! :eek: She was smart and ran from him. I told him if he wrote on my girl again I was going to kick his a$$! :eek: Can you imagine how many baths that will take! So hide the ink pens and sharpies ladies! And get your 14 year old to tattle tell!

That is wonderful and Miss Priss has won Ray over too. I would love to have another yorkie, they are like chocolate, you can never get enough.

My 6'4" 260 lb husband has been known to baby talk to the pups... Miss Khloe has definitely become 'his' dog and even prefers him over me :eek: He loves that she runs to him when it's bath time lol

Congratulations! Wishing you lots of love, laughter, health, and joy with Ali and your other babies. She is really precious, just like the other boys in Friday's litter. My husband has been just like George with all of our babies through the years. It's just another reason why I love him so much.

Wow, it sounds like George is in very good company. It's awesome that these big burly guys turn to mush over these babies. George use to wonder what his guy friends would say. Now he says he doesn't care if they know and tease him. I tell him it takes a tender man to love a little Yorkie. It sure wins my heart. :love:

Kim I like it spelled Allie also. And George can still dot the I with a heart. I am so looking forward to the end of August. I get to meet George, see Mia again, and Meet Denise. Oh and show at a specialty and meet some of the older breeders that I have only talked to online. Someone will have to pinch me. LOL Just Kidding. Pups get baths tomorrow and some table training tomorrow. Need to go to the pet store so I may take one of the boys with me.

Just think this all started with you stopping in traffic to rescue a sweet little Yorkie girl (I believe that is how it started for you and George).

Lori, I'm so excited to see you too. I'm excited to see my first show, and plan to be there both days. Thank you everyone for your warm wishes. We feel so blessed to be given this opportunity. Lori's babies are always beautiful, and she is very, very protective about where they go home to. It will be so fun to watch Ali grow up with Mia (and Lucy and Lola). I was thinking about how these little ones have really changed my life. If it weren't for them, I'd have never met and became dear friends with so many wonderful people here at YT.

You are so right! I decided to keep a little male Yorkie we had at the rescue, and was taking him home after the adoption event that day at PetSmart, when an elderly lady came in looking for a companion. She had lost both her parents that winter, and her husband, three weeks prior, had committed suicide in their back yard after finding out he was terminal. Of all the dogs there, she picked out my little male Yorkie, and I bit my lip real hard. She clearly needed him as much as he needed her. They were a perfect match. At 6 pm, in front of everyone, I said to the director of the rescue to please keep an eye out at the shelters and mills for a little female for me to add to my family. At 10pm, I found Lucy running down the road in the snow. The first thing I said to George when I got her into the car was "God sent me this Yorkie". He laughed and shook his head. "God doesn't send Yorkies". I smiled, "Oh yes He does, and He sent me this one". Despite looking, no one ever claimed poor old, sick Lucy, but I already knew that no one would. Now, sixteen months later, I've fostered 7, and will be the proud owner of three. And you know what. I will NEVER go back to a day without being owned by these adorable little balls of fluff and love.

Aw, Thank you so much Kim,Yes I am very particular on who my stinkers go to. I couldn't ask for a better home for both Mia and now Ali. Plus I have you as a friend now and that is a bonus.
