Khaleesi :-) 3 Attachment(s) Good afternoon everyone. Here is Khaleesi! I have tons of questions. First do you think the mom is yorkie or silky? What do you think her hair will look like? Yesterday i bought Taste of The Wild puppy formula Salmon. Is the ok? Sorry for so many questions lol I'm a new small breed mom.:):):):) |
Mom looks all yorkie to me. She looks almost identical to our past little girl Lolita. I have pictures of her in my albums if you want to look. |
You must be a GOT fan. Your puppy is adorable! Pam |
I am no expert but the mom looks all yorkie, the puppy is darling a really cutie but looks like it could be mix. Since you have a pic of the puppy with the mom, what did the person you bought her from have to say, did you see the dad? How old is your pup? Congrats and welcome to YT I am sure you will be able to find a lot of good info here and if you look around on this site you will see threads on how to care for a puppy. |
The dad is a bichon Maltese mix. What is a GOT? Any ideas of what kind of coat she will have? |

That statement is dead on, my Lola is a yorkie pom and I have not seen one that looks like her, she looks more like a yorkie, I just saw one on facebook that looks like a little fox and is a golden blond reddish color, nothing like Lola and Lola's brother was smaller and all brown and looked nothing like her. I have a feeling your girl might go light though, I have seen several morkies that start out dark and turn light creme color. I am surprised someone would breed such a pretty yorkie female with a mixed dog, seems like it is not worth taking the risk to get a three way mixed dog, was it an accident? Hopefully you will have a healthy puppy because in the end that is what matters most |
It's so hard to say what she will look like or what type of fur at such a young age and with such a large gene pool going there. She does look like she will be lighter in color though. It is also hard to say about the mom. I think Silky's are bigger than Yorkies usually but with so many different types out there now it is hard to say. There is someone who breeds Silky's here on YT maybe if she drops by she could give a guess. When are you getting this puppy? |
I get the puppy on Tuesday and yes she was a accident the adoption fee is to get the male fixed. |
She is going to be very young. I hope you are prepared to care for an infant. |
Lol I understand that. I'm a er tech and have been a tech for 12 years I'm fully equipt to take care of her. |

Lol I'm recusing her from a bad situation. She is going to be with me at the hospital I work for everyday all day. I understand leaving her with the mother is best but that option is not available |

^^ oh I thought this was NOT a breeder she was getting the puppy from? I'm confused? |
Lol @ Tammy whatever your name. Once again I'm a vet tech! I have taught people how to raise a puppy. I appreciate your concern but I'm not a women who just bought a dog from a pet store because it was fluffy. Lol |
You will find a lot of passionate members on here. We all believe that it is important to keep the puppy with mom until 12 weeks for socialization. Good luck with your new puppy! |
I completely understand but that unfortunately can not happen in this situation. The home that she is in now is not safe that's why I'm taking her early. They own a extremely aggressive boxer that will look at her as a chew toy. I joined this website for advise and to learn new things I need to know about owning a small breed dog but I felt like that women was attacking me and treating me like I'm retarted. |

Your absolutely right that was ignorant on my part and I apologize. I just get frustrated with breeders who down talk to me. I know it's not the ideal situation but I want her to be safe |

She is going to be completely isolated from the other animals. I just feel bad leaving a puppy at home while I'm working especially being so young |

I really don't understand why you would think a 'breeder' would be "talking down to you." The person concerned about the age of the puppy is not a breeder. You said you came here for advice about owning a small breed puppy but get upset when one of the first issues of concern about obtaining a small breed puppy was raised. Did you expect breeders to "talk down to you" when you came here? Is there something specific you wanted to know? Being a vet tech you know we cannot predict the type of things you asked concerning a mixed breed puppy. I hope you will take the time to read in the YT library. There are also things called a "sticky" at the beginning of each topic area that contain helpful information. If there is anything else you would like to know please ask. Please also realize that this is a public forum full of all kinds of people, pet owners as well as very experienced breeders that show their dogs. You will always get a variety of answers. |
