Soooo true, utter panic...even when I know they are in the house...there is no way for them to escape my house, but still Miss Mini will sometimes hide in a hamper of dirty laundry:eek:, the folds of a big blanket etc., and she won't *answer* me....freaks me right out.. Jadabug I'm sorry you have to bare witness to such idiots actions...I know how you feel. |
Oh NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, this is just so sad for this sweet precious boy. If it ever happens again, there would be no way I would call the owners and give him back. They don't deserve him. How the heck can they just let him out the door to chase squirrels and know that he is missing. This sweet baby needs someone who will love him. |
No way would I put this dog back in his hands. Do you know if the dog has a microchip? How did you find the ower the first time. Is there someone willing to own this dog? I think the owner would probably be very open to selling it. |
.... He let their yorkie out to chase a squirrel?!?!?!?!!??! Are you kidding me?!? I would be so upset too. This dog has gotten lucky, twice, by not getting hit by a car (& fortunate enough to go to your work). Who knows what will happen the 3rd time :(. |
That poor baby deserves an owner that loves him:( My heart breaks for him, knowing that he is in a home where he's not really wanted and loved. It almost sounds like the man is TRYING to get the dog killed or lost! I would NOT give the dog back a third time, and honestly, I would have probably had a super hard time even giving him back this time. WHY doesn't everyone love their babies the way we all do?!?!?! |

Well, at least according to some posters. |

We have the business accounts for all three vet offices in our small town and one of the vet techs happened to come into our office and she recognized Choco. She then went to his owners house and told him we had him. I should have known when the lady came after him the first time and said I am here after my crazy dog..that they do not consider him a member of their family like we all do.:( It was sad today..all of my co workers noticed that Choco wanted to stay here with me, he did not want to go with his owner:( He is such a sweet little guy and very loving, I just do not understand his owners not caring about him enough to protect him. I still cannot get over the fact that they let him out this time ,to chase a squirrel or outside by himself period!!! |

The next time (and I am sure there will be a next time:() I won't be so quick to call the owners, they know now that he heads here to the bank, because we play with him and love on him. I will wait on them to come in search of him. |
I'd call them now and ask if they want to rehome him. Put a bug in their ears... next time he may not be so lucky....:( |
I couldn't agree more with you...I also freak out if mine are gone for literally a minute where I don't know where they are. I don't even let them out of sight in the fenced back yard...so the idea of just casually letting their dog out to chase a squirrel blows my mind!! I am so glad that you found this baby a second time, and I'm happy that he is safe! It could have been so much worse! |
You know what's so sad is that other owners would give anything to have their babies be safe after "escaping" from home. Now this a$$ is so blessed that his dog is safe... TWICE!! Gosh this is so upsetting! I'm sorry you have to del with this |

I think most of us know things happen for a reason. Maybe some animals do have guardian angels. This little guy\'s life has been spared more than once and brought to you. I think you need to do something for him. You know you can find him a good home. If he is given to animal control the people will not get the dog back for free. People like that don\'t like to put out money when their dog runs off. Either ask if you can have him or turn him over to animal control or some service that will ticket them for letting their dog run and there would be another fee if he does not have a licence or just find him a good home and don\'t say anything. |
