Ice Cubes Does anyone else have a dog that likes ice cubes? I dropped one on the floor a few days ago and Zachary took off with it. Now, every time we open the freezer, we have to "drop" an ice cube for him. Out of my 6, he is the only one that likes them. Louise |
All of my dogs have always loved ice cubes. They come running when they hear the freezer drawer open. For the most part the dogs just bat the ice cube around and play with it. I frequently pick up what's left of the melted ice cubes before they become a puddle on the floor, lol. |
My Milo likes them to. If he hears one hit the floor he comes running. |
I have 4 dogs. Two of them LOVE ice cubes! My ACD and my Yorkie:) They both come running when they hear the ice dispenser! |
Yes! Roxie comes running whenever she hears the ice dispenser. She's so funny too...she takes the cube into the living room, places it on the carpet, and then jumps back and forth from it like it's going to attack her or something! |
Several of them love ice....I give mine crushed ice rather than ice cubes....Hailee got choked on an ice cube....I especially like to make a puree from watermelon, pour it into ice cube trays...REMEMBER THOSE!!!???!!!....and then give them pureed melon cubes...they love them.... |

Both my dogs LOVE ice cubes! Every time we open the freezer, we have to spare two, one of each. They're addicted. :) Especially with this HOT summer that we're having. =/ |

ZoE loves ice, but I get worried about giving her whole cubes. I really miss the the fancy in-door ice dispenser, in the fridge at the old house, that could make crushed ice.... as I'm sure ZoE would have loved that the way Chelsea did. Now I'm kicking it old school and have to fill cube trays with water...and making crushed ice involves a ziploc bag & a hammer :eek: |
Kyra loves them Laddy hates them. This post made me smile because my sis when we were younger had a pet squirrel who used to hide them in our moms shag carpet and look so confused 30 minutes later when it went back to get them lol. |
My chi. loves! Ice cubes. he runs after them, he really likes the crushed ice cubes. |
Callie doesn't normally unless its a piece of crushed ice. She will lick it some if I am holding it for her. I grew up with a beagle that is nuts about ice if my mom put some in the bowls he would take it all out and eat it and if you dropped a piece of ice he would grab it and take off to eat it in the living room. |
