I have tried everything to get my Lilly's ears to stand (well not everything, I just taped them a few times) but they won't stand.. SO she looks kinda silly, but we love her anyway!! It really isn't a big deal. |
Personally I would not have the ears put up, and as you can see from my avatar Bruce's ears are down and that is where they will remain. Honestly I do not see the point unless you are going for conformation, which it does not sound like your little baby is a show prospect, I could be wrong...I am with YorkieRose all the way unless it improves their quality of life or alliviates pain it is not worth it! Remove the baby tooth though, if you don't it will eventually abcess, and that would be nasty! Bruce has had a lot of dental work, trust me it is really not that big of a deal! |
At a year and one half, I doubt those ears are going to come up, no matter what you try but I definitely do not think it is a good idea to do any type of surgical procedure. Floppy ears are cute anyway. |
I agree...Just love him the way he is :) I bet he looks so cute with those floppy ears! |
1 Attachment(s) Thanks EVERYONE...!! I had been told by several people that 'floppy ears' were trouble about causing ear infections and such problems.. which is why I was thinking about it.. She's never had an ear infection.. but Ive always been uber careful about her ears since I heard that.. I dunno if these people were well meaning and thought they were being helpful.. or just thought her ears should be erect ... I would never just do anything like that for cosmetic reasons!! I adore her if she had NO ears! or elephant ears! I have also been thinking of getting her spayed.. but even that I dont know if I want to subject her to... I do not plan to ever breed her.. but then again... its not like she's out running around unattended ever.. so.. Ive been putting that off too.. only because she HAS to have the oral surgery... am I considering getting other things done while she is already under.. I still look at her teeth everyday and optimist that I am,, I hope magically that extra tooth will have fallen out. but looks like its gonna have to be removed. The vet said its causing her bite to become worse .. and truthfully I have noticed lately she seems to have a harder time 'cracking' her little treats.. She is so little.. she doesnt weigh even 5 lbs.. so.. I am taking her to a vet that specializes in anesthesia and tiny animals.. so.. Im trying to think of any other possible procedures getting done at same time so she doesnt have to 'go under' again for anything that I can circumvent. Here's a photo of my sweet girl... http://tinypic.com/idx2zd.jpg Thanks SOOO much again everyone!! |
