Lost my baby yesterday I was blessed to have a little Angel named Buffy. She was the perfect dog, sweet as pie. I loved her with all my heart and yesterday I had t say goodbye. I came home to her laying on the floor unresponsive. We immediately rushed her to the vet emergency room and they kept her for the night. I stayed there for most of the night trying to get as much information as possible. They said it looked like she was in an Addisonian Crisis. Around 1AM I asked for an update and they said she had began to start paddling her legs and they said there was some swelling around her brain. The next morning we had to pick her up and transport her to the regular vet - The said they would stabilize her and test for Addison's disease. She also said it seemed like the fluid in her brain had shifted causing her to be unresponsive - There was a great possibility for brain damage but there was also a possibility she would fully recover and even if she had brain damage it could be very slight and she would live a normal life. I called about an hour later to check on her and the vet suggested we took her to a neurologist specialist. I was able to get her an appointment shortly after that, we brought her in and they sent her to the Internal Medicine department. I called an hour later to check on her and they said they had some bad news..They ran tests and she absolutely had Addison' disease. Her blood work came back and all her levels were back to normal they gave her an injection went to put her information in the computer when they turned back around and her brain had given out and her heart stopped. They tried to resuscitate her but she was gone. I guess I'm on here looking for a little support. She was my Angel and I'm not sure where to go from here. Has anyone else had something like this happen? How does one deal with losing their baby. I feel so heartbroken and can't stop thinking there was something else we could have done. :(:animal-pa:( RIP Buffy , We love you Always. |
I am so sorry for your loss. We never have our dogs long enough! I;ve posted her a link for you; http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/mem...-pet-loss.html We do have a forum here called R.I.P. You might find the above article helpful for you. Guilt is so often paired with the loss of our loved one. From what you've written, you did all you could do!. Please don't second guess your actions on that day you lost your girl. Prayers for you and your family at this sad sad time |
so sorry for your loss |
I am so sorry for your loss:unlove: It sounds like you did all you possibly could do, so please don't feel guilty. A lot of us here have lost a little one, myself included, and know how devastating it is. Only thing that helps is time, really. Welcome to YT, sorry it's under such sad circumstances. |
oh I am so truly sorry. I don't have words to make you feel any better but know my heart is breaking for you now... please take care |
I'm so sorry. I know how badly this hurts. Sending good thoughts and hugs to you. Rest in Peace, little one. |
My condolences for the lost of your loved one. Know that she is in a happy place. |
Oh, I am so sorry you lost your baby. It is so painful & raw right now as most of us on this forum know. The first few days are only just survivable - that is all you must try to do. After that, it is just day by day and lots of crying & pain at the most unexpected times. It seems to go on for a long, long time. From those of us who have been there, we know one day you do smile again and there is a lessening of the hurt over time. You never forget them or stop loving them but grief does eventually lessen to a degree or who would ever even live through it. After a while mostly only the good memories of her begin to supplant the horror of losing her. I pray you can find some peace & rest over these next terrible weeks. R.I.P., Buffy. |
I am so so sorry for your loss, like others have said you did all you could, more than many others would have. I will be harder on you because this came so quick and it sounds like out of the blue, Every member of YT understands you, because we love our dogs just like we gave birth to them and many of us have suffered sudden losses. The sad and hardest part of pet ownership is no matter how long a dog lives their life span is no where close to a human so we love and then are forced to suffer. Since you asked I will tell you that for me I have grieved differently with each one I lost. Sometimes I put things away immediately because it hurt to look at it, then later I would drag some of the stuff back out, at times I got another dog pretty quick, and one time I waited a year. With my last dog I would not let the cleaning lady clean the inside glass on the door panel because he used to look out of it and his nose prints which used to be a source of annoyance now brought be comfort. Please know my thoughts are with you. |
I am crying for you now cause I like many others know your pain. Time is the only healer and someday you will look back on all the good times. Don't blame yourself for anything they happened that day. You did all that you could and your little one knew she was loved. I am so sorry for your loss. Eileen x |
i am very sorry for you loss. only time can help heal the pain a bit. my thoughts and prayers are with you. rip buffy you can fly with the angels now. |
I am so very sorry for your loss and with what happened with your Buffy. There is nothing more heartbreaking than loosing one of our babies and I am so sorry this happened. Our previous yorkie Shasta had Addison's and I almost lost her several times at age four. I remember going through all of that so well and she required lifelong medications but died of kidney failure secondary to side effects of her medications and she was only eight years old. An Addisonian crisis comes on so quickly that there was nothing more you could have done. I'm just so sorry that you're going through this right now and it will take time to heal. |
I am so very, very sorry for your loss. RIP little Buffy, I know she's going to make one great little guardian angel.:animal-pa:animal-pa *hugs* |
I am so sorry for your loss. It hurts so much to lose our furbabies, sometimes more than losing a human family member. These little ones give us UNCONDITIONAL love. Be sure to stay active on YT. You will get nothing but love and support from everyone here. When you are ready to let another baby into your life, we will all support you and if you need it, help you find a good breeder to get one from. God bless you. Prayers, Louise |
I am so sorry for your loss. I know exactly how you feel. I had my lucky ( a rat terrier) for over 15 years. We lost him a few weeks ago. It's so heart wrenching. I have never been so lost. Me and my husband cried and cried for days. I still have a hard time getting something out of our fridge, knowing he would always run up to see what I was getting. It has been the hardest thing I have had to deal with. Everything I do reminds me of him. He did everything with me. I have no answers for you. It hurts. We just got our Bella and Bandit. This was to help fill the quiet in the house and the void in our hearts. In no way will they take the place of Lucky. I feel guilt at times because I love these two little balls of joy but nothing like I loved Lucky. Sorry to ramble. I had tears in my eyes reading your post. Just wanted you to know your not alone. They are our babies. Our children. Lord be with you. |
I am so sorry for your loss. I have been there... I wish I could hug you. It hurts, I know....one day soon the happy memories will remove some of the sting of the pain. |
I'm am so sorry for your loss! |
May Buffy rest in peace. I am saddened by your loss and hope that you can take comfort in the memories you/your family made with your sweet angel. |
I am so sorry your baby had to leave you. Please don't blame yourself in anyway. You carried her to three different people that might have helped her, but they couldn't. I really feel your pain going through this terrible loss and it will get better with time, but you will never forget the joy and love you shared with her. |
I am very sorry for your loss. This really scares the daylights out of me, when a beloved yorkie passes away from illness or injury, feels like my own baby to me. Allow time to heal and cry over your yorkie's death, it takes time, and be in no hurry to go through the grieving process. Again i am so very sorry. |
I'm so very sorry for the loss of your little one. My heart is breaking for you. Please know you did all you could for her and she knows how very much you loved her. Sending healing prayers your way. RIP sweet baby. |
I am so sorry. You are talking to many on here that know the hurt and heartache of losing one of our babies. Sometimes all we can do is just not enough to save them. Time will help and the love will never die. RIP little Buffy. |
I am so sorry for your loss :( It sounds like you did everything you possibly could for her... You shouldn\'t feel guilty. RIP Buffy |
I\'m so very sorry for your loss... RIP Little Buffy. |
I\'m so sorry. You did everything you could. |
I am so sorry for your loss. I have never had a dog suffer from that disease. It sounds like a nightmare for you. I have suffered the loss of my beloved pets in the past so I know the pain you must be experiencing. You thought you had a healthy pet when you left only to find a critically ill one when you came home. It must be a terrible shock for you. Please know you did everything you possibly could have. |
I am so sorry for your loss. |
So very sorry for your loss. |
