My dogs generally don't pee on carpets. Right now, I have yoga mats all around my kitchen for a dog recovering from ortho surgery and no one has peed on them. I trained them to use pads in designated locations and prior to using pads I used dog litter so I kept the litter boxes (placing pads inside) and kept the same locations. I encourage people to keep pads in the same locations so the dogs know the designated spot. I think this is true for any indoor potty system (disposable, washable, litter, grass, etc) that one should keep it in the same locations. People tend to have more challenges when they have pads all over the place or when the dog doesn't want to go on pads that are soiled. I also think that it is important to keep the area clean so the dog will not be deterred from using the potty system if it is dirty. |:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
I use boxes too! Location is key, cuz if you move their boxes they tend to go to that spot anyway.....trust me, I have it on good authority!!! |
