| How MUCH does your baby pee? Hi all, This is probably a very silly question. I've had Lucy since Saturday. She's just about 5 months and weighs 4 3/4 lbs. I've noticed that I need to direct her to her food/water bowls in the a.m. & p.m. When I do, she eats and drinks. I've also been keeping close watch on her and frequently direct her back to the water bowl to drink (she does do that on her own at times.) I've also noticed that she really only pees 1x per day. The 2nd night I had her, she held her pee until after midnight (even tho I took her out A WHOLE LOT!) When she pee'd - it was like a dam broke open. Today (this a.m. around 7) she went out for her morning walk. She poo'd but didn't pee. I just took her out again for over 1/2 hour. She still didn't pee. She ate and drank after her first thing in the morning walk. She's perky and healthy. Vet gave her a full clean bill of health. Her tail is wagging all the time. She does need frequent "cat" naps because she gets lots of play time. When she's up, she's very very playful. Is it normal for a yorkie to hold it like a camel all day? I have her restricted to an expen when I'm not with her. She's restricted to our kitchen when I am with her - and that's a small area. I've gotten on my hands and knees searching for a secret pee under the table or near a cabinet - but nothing. She doesn't lift her leg and squats like a lady when she goes. Maybe I'm used to male dogs (this is my first girl) who constantly lift their legs on something when they go outside???? What's normal????? Much thanks. Tracey |

| check around your house for little areas of smelly peepee, Tufty pees everytime he wakes from a nap and likely about once or twice an hour I guess. He's pretty good with the pee pads but I did have a skid across the floor last night compliments of the little bugger |

| Just to let you know Teegy was able to hold it all day around the age of 7 months. I removed the pee pads from the house when I saw that he was being less frequent. So I'm just waiting for Tufty he's almost 5 months now |

| I can almost guarantee there are little spots hidden somewhere in your house. Brandi can take a tinkle in a matter of seconds. I could turn my head away for a few seconds and in that time she has probably peed. Maybe your little one is not holding it but sneaking to pee. I know for a fact, Brandi will not pee in front of me unless we are outside and even then she likes her privacy. |

| I checked everywhere on my hands and knees (she's very restricted though not in a crate). I think I'm going to sniff her beds again. She has a few. I haven't smelled anything in them yet and they're always dry. What we do for these babies, right?? |

| Boys seem to me to be very different from little girls....our girls have always managed to hold on and on to pee....our boys always seem to be cocking their legs on anything that moves - or doesn't... Apart from our Harry - he only pees a couple of times a day... Oh, and the girlies normally always squat, it's usually the boys who are the leg-lifters Sally + Harry x |

| Harry still does both - and he's 20 months I think it's because, when he first started lifting his leg, he used to lift it so high that he would fall over sideways.... Oh my goodness it shouldn't have been - but it was very funny.... Sally + Harry x |

LOL That is very funny (sorry, I'm laughing with and not at Harry!) BTW, I just did another hand and knee search on my kitchen floor & closely sniffed her beds AND we went out again - still nothing. I think she gets distracted by outdoor sounds & little bees. I'm trying to keep her focussed on the task at hand though. | |

| My kitchen floor where Lucy is confined is large all white tile. Therefore, I'm really fastidious and always clean it. You can see a speck of dust on that floor! I think I could spot the pee. I even looked under the fridge with a flashlight!!!! No pee. |

| My little Ahi pees a few times a day 3-4. Depends on how much she drinks and how hot it is. My cousins Maltese on the other hand only pees ONCE a day also. She has a clean bill of health too. She thought it was strange as she has 2 other dogs, another Maltese and a Yorkie. They pee several times a day. But same as your baby, it's like a dam breaks when her little Cupcake goes.(yes that's her name...cute huh?hehe) You can double check with your vet if you think something is wrong. Other than that I think she may just go the once a day.

| so right about the boy versus girl thing, My last male peed on papers in a litter box, I swear I picked up papers no less than ten times a day. Lola from a fairly young age held her self for long periods of time. I awoke this morning at 5:15 and by 10:30 she had not even asked to go out, so I took her out, she still has not gone out again. However when we walk she is like a male dog and squats about every 10 houses, I have started not letting her do that since I know she most likely does not have to go. Consider yourself lucky

| I've noticed that my little girl will hold and hold her pee Then when we are outside and I look away my brother says she pees a little at a time I rarely see her pee. Her mom my old foster dog would hold her pee all day and rush outside when I got home and pee a lake. Gatsby seems to never pee because he is always marking every plant and pot and bush in the yard. If she is still drinking and happy and perky I am sure she peed somewhere at some time. You could try feeling her belly when it is at its hardest take her out and watch her like a hawk ill bet you see her pee |
