Docking Docking is illegal in England.Quite rightly too. |

I wonder if any of your UK members know how this got changed in their country? |
My Female Becca has an undocked Tail, and it's beautiful ! I leave the hair very long on it, and it looks like a Plume. She (by the way) is a member of the "Wag Club", which is a Group here on YorkieTalk, for the Undocked. You can find that at... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/groups/wag-club.html |
Jaeger has a long tail too-maybe too long :) I'd never have consented to docking, of course, but he brushed up against the wet front door the other day and I had to trim the paint-covered end off. No love lost-he's in his "molting" stage right now anyway. |

Lots around, the show and breed standard in Europe has changed now so no more docking tails, but not quite hit the North Americas I like the tail |

I can't see tail docking ever being against the law in this country since we cannot even get the puppy mill situation under control. It would be nice if the AKC and YTCA as well as other breed associations would get serious about the issue. I think the ear docking is more inhumane than the tail docking since it is done at a later age on dogs like the Doberman and Boxer. Have you ever seen them all bandaged up after the procedure? It's so sad. |

Maybe docking will become "optional" Quote:
I think those who are dedicated to showing as well as breeding want to be able to compete outside the U.S. We are now a "global society" in everything. So it makes sense that the YTCA is mulling it over. Imagine - you go through all the trouble of developing fine breed lines and champion pedigrees and you're limited in showing your prize pup because of the docked tail. Maybe it will become optional in the U.S. I hope so anyway. |
