My Weekend Project

I have been after DH for months to make a couple of set of steps for Jada and Bogie. I have those cheap plastic steps from CVS and one set was falling apart and dangerous.
I took matters into my own hands today and just did it myself. I figured it couldn't be too hard. I have my own jigsaw and power tools just not that good at measuring things out:D I think they turned out pretty good. They aren't perfect, but they are wood and lots sturdier than the plastic ones. I used scrap lumber that we had, so I was only out my time and sweat if they turned out crappy:D

I love those!! I just spent $40 on a 3rd set from TJmaxx. But they were needed, so money well spent!

Any ideas on how to make a ramp?

I have no clue on a ramp..but if I thought about it for a while, I am sure I could figure it out:D I wish I had room for a ramp in our tiny bedroom!!

They look perfect. I'm sure Jada and Bogey appreciate the time you put into this for them. They will get many years of use out of these. :)

Thanks!! Those little plastic steps have always scared me to death..they scoot around on the wood floor too much:eek: These are heavy and so much safer.

I believe you hit on something there Rhonda:D He knows when I want something done I have little patience..I am OCD when I get something on my mind and he hates little tedious jobs:D

Best way to get stuff done that DH promised to do is to do it myself...or at least start the project so he can take over and show me up...lol

Yep, I am the same way. I just told him today if he didn't go mow the lawn I was going to use round up and we would have dirt. :eek::eek: He knows I will do it. :p:p

HAHA..I took my plastic cheap steps and used them as a template to cute new ones out of wood:D traced them onto the plywood and then used my jigsaw to cut them out...then I pre-drilled holes and put the stair treads onto the stringers and then I painted them and attached the wooly fabric for traction:p

LOL...it wasn't really that hard:p..well except for holding the two stringers upright and attaching the first step..I coulda used a couple of extra hands that were attached to DH who was laying on the couch watching tv :D

You are inspiring! This week I plan to try my hand and some things I have asked DH to do. He just doesn't seem to get around to them. In February I for some "good dirt" forn small Veggie garden. Well no grden for me. But he did take dirt to our daughter-in-law for her flowers. :thumbdown

He says he doesn't want to mow around anything. :thumbdown:(:(
