Well in terms of the moderator removing your account, you probably would need to contact them personally. And you have hi jacked this thread and her question, to speak about what you perceive to be her own angst. There are many members here, who despite the age of their membership, I would guess spend lots of time searching and reading threads, to educate themselves about how to care for the puppy, how to train, and they might just look at the Breeders forum, or even in the General Forum and assimilate information. I am personally insulted if you think "I vomit comments". I have been a show breeder for some years now. And personally after losing yesterday a dog to cancer; I have no patience for this type of post. My response to this poster, including looking up dog clubs in her area of domicile, and trying to encapsulate briefly what can and not be registered with AKC. IS NOT a Vomit Response Let me end by apologizing to the OP for further taking her original question off track. |
wow, this is so sad, this thread has been brutal, the OP has taken it in her stride and thats the only reason it hasnt become too ugly. Its so sad that we're lossing members because some people refuse to just be respectful, even when disagreeing. *sad* |

you have not allowed me to defend myself. i believe i did, without ignorance(like most here), and with factual information. Why would you not delete the posts of others? |

I am just a little confused and want to clarify for other members, do I understand you correctly that you and your vet feel having puppies somehow protects them against certain conditions of the reproductive tract? I am asking because my understanding from my vet is the best protection against many of these problems is spay. My own Moka, who has never even seen a male dog, developed pyometra, a very serious uterine infection and it could have been fatal. This is not a condition that affects only older dogs, as she was only 2 years old. Again, sorry if I have misunderstood your post, but I just want other members to understand that spaying their beloved pets can actually protect them from some of these reproductive illnesses which can be very serious. |
Like I said before, it was my observation base on my personal experience with our pets (and we've had a lot), our female dogs who've given birth to puppies a couple of times passed away naturally compared to some of the females who never gave birth and they developed tumors and cancers. Ofcourse we also had female dog, never gave birth and didnt develop any medical condition. As for spaying, truth be told, I dont recall ever hearing my sister mention the vet suggest that.. Ive heard her talk about vet suggeting nuetering for the male dogs so that they don't go "crazy" when the females are in heat. (Please refer to my earlier post where I wrote most of the our pets are owned by my sister) Of all the puppies/ dogs we had, prior to Mojo and now with Mollie and Mollyeet, Ive only really owned 2 female dogs. Japanese- Spitz mix named Smoochie who got pregnant twice and died of old age, and Chelsea, a chiuaua-terrier mix, who we didnt mate with any dog but died relatively earlier than Moochie bec. she developed some sort of cancer in her uterus. After Chelsea died, I stopped being emotionally invested in our puppies bec. i felt really sad and i was young. Id help with my sister with the our pets, I play with them but never really "owned" any or played favorite to any of them. I know what its like to have a pet die on me specially one who had a medical condition and we're doing everything to make her better. I've only started "owning" a pet again... Mojo.. with Mollie and Mollyeet. I do not want to go through the sadness of losing any of our puppies/dogs therefore I will not risk their health or life. As for Mollyeet, I believe her cycle's about to end and therefore mating her is moot. I will talk to our vet about spaying and find out his opinion on this matter. |

I wouldn't recommend breeding her so early, from anything I've educated myself on there are a few things to think about. 1. is she too small 2. do I want to breed my pet and risk her dying during the process just because I want to breed her 3. is she emotionally and physically ready to be bred and successfully raise a litter Now I have read over the other responses and your answer, I have to wonder why are you even asking. |

I actually NEVER asked help in deciding whether or not I should BREED my Yorkshire Terrier. And despite my succeeding posts that indicated that I may not and actually no longer will go through with it, Im still being told why I should NOT breed my yorkie. I am a newbie at Yorkshiretalk forum and Mojo is my first yorkie.. but it doesnt mean Im a new dog owner or that I have no experience with dogs. Initially, it feels flattering to see so many people reacting to my post and even tho most comments are harsh and have a tendency to sound belittling, some were kind and encouraging. I think had I read more extensively at other posts on this forum, then I probably would have realized early on that there is an anti-breeding sentiment among most members.. regardless wheter the yorkie's small or regular size. This actually makes me wonder if all your yorkies comes from shelters or are rescues. I just saw on tv Dog Whisperer's episode where they "raided" a Puppy mill. Watching that episode was truly heart wrenching and in a way made me understand, a little, such strong passion to discourage breeding. |
Ok, lets be clear here just for claritys sake..."we", the majority of YTer's are against UNETHICAL BREEDING, puppy mills and brokers...not responsible breeders. Please read the following link: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...-breeders.html |
It's not that people are against breeding, but with Yorkies as with any toy breed there are a lot of factors that come into play that you need to educate yourself on. There is a section on the forums where you can ask questions of breeders that may be able to help. Many folks on here got their first Yorkie from what they later found to be an unethical or back yard breeder and have since taken it upon themselves to become more educated. My personal mentality is, leave it to the experts. We like to know that people are breeding their dogs and raising them in a caring and healthy breeding facility. There are too many dogs cross bred with other breeds for the cute effect without consideration for the genetics and health issues you may incur. Yes you will get bashed and beaten by the steadfast and aggressive folks on here. We are protective of the breed and like to hope that other Yorkie owners are as in love and care for their dogs as we do our own. So when you say you wanna cross breed a Yorkie with a Biewer, you're gonna get some stones chucked at ya. Do your research before breeding your yorkie as I said have a gander under the breeder section. One thing I do know is you can't register cross breeds basically because they are a mutt, whether you dress it up with hybrid, designer dog or give it a cute name like chorkie morkie or horkie. |

I commend you for having the thicker skin and courage to hang around and hope to see you interacting more around here. Perhaps your research will lead you in a new direction where you do become a reputable breeder someday. Or maybe your research will lead you to get involved in rescue. Either one, if done under the right circumstances, can be extremely rewarding. There are some days I miss rescue. My checkbook doesn't, but my heart does. I'd love to hear more about your babies as time progresses! |
I tried to give you an honest view of how a biewer bred to a yorkie is viewed in the yorkie world and biewer world. Your not always going to hear what you want to hear on a breeding thread people get pretty passionate on the subject. And this is a yorkie forum and I did tell you that breeding a biewer to a yorkie isnt viewed well in the yorkie world in fact the pups are considered mixed breed and if youve seen any mixed breed breeding threads then you would understand. |
