Brilliant news - you doing all the research and finding out as much as you possibly can first - the correct way to go...;) As far as water's concerned - I can only speak for our Harry :aimeeyork. We've just got home from an area called the Norfolk Broads, and spent a week on and off a boat - he was absolutely amazing and loved every moment of it.... We kept his harness on, and tethered him with his nylon training lead so that he had to keep within the confines of the edges of the boat. He would lean on the side, with the wind in his hair (the old sea-dog!) he looked like a shampoo advert....:D Good luck with your search - it'll happen when it's meant to! Sally + Harry x |
Is it a scam? Hi all, Thanks for all the advice and book suggestions. I look forward to getting my first yorkie. Speaking of which, I have been corresponding with a "stranger" online about a female in Oregon. I am wondering is there anything wrong with purchasing a puppy online, would you buy a pup sight unseen? They have sent me several pictures but I know pictures can be stolen and intenet fraud is rampant, but is there a way to find out if the pup does in fact exist? I have heard so many stories of internet scams. I have asked for their address (google earth will help there) I'm sure if I ask my fb friends, maybe someone in Oregon could maybe check it out for me. I have asked for a scanned copy of the health guarantee, what it contains and what limits there are. As well as the vet record, I was hoping to actually talk to their vet but was told a lot of folks give the shots on their own so don't hold my breath. I don't think these folks are breeders. They say they will courier the pup to me and I will in turn pay the courier service. It's such a great deal that I'd hate to pass it up but an unhealthy pup is never a great deal of anything other than worry & frustration. Not to mention who wants to lose their money. Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated? |
I would go to the breeders section on YT and start a new thread saying something like 'do you know this breeder/person' and explain what you have said here. Many dogs have been purchased online that have worked out, however many not. Sometimes you have to go with a gut feeling. Maybe it's just me but I would like to see temperament and you can't see that in a picture. I might mention the 'Yorkshire Terrier Club of America' website....go to breeders and I'm sure there are still many good breeders listed in North Carolina. Good Luck:animal-pa |

What breed are you interested in ??(Just to knowwhat you are looking for ?? Yorkie I too have a few questions... Asthis is my first time with this breed I'd like to see the parents and thembefore putting any money down. I believe you are also in Charlotte, whencould I come by? Whatshots have they had and what do they need next? Whatspecifically is your 1 year guarantee? Whathappens if there is a problem that is covered by your guarantee? Thanksfor the information |
Well they didn't say they are breeders, apparently they had a litter, wife got sick they can't take care of them and just want them to go to a good home. I tried to post "is this a scam" in the breeders section but I think it got bounced as inappropriate or I did do it right. I hope they reply to my questions it would go a long way in my mind if I could in fact verify something. |
Welcome to Yorkie Talk!:) |
Mine love the water chachi especially. We have a stream in our back yard and he runs through it and has a good ole time |
Welcome to YorkieTalk!! My two love wading in water during the summer. I take them to the river and they love running through it. At the end of the summer, our local wading pool opens up for the dogs and my male loves to swim and chase tennis balls in the water. Good luck searching for your little girl... I wouldn't recommend buying a puppy online. |
Well I did a little more digging and found out it was indeed a scam. Cudo's for me for being suspicious. The search for a little sweetie continues...but that's ok. Thanks everyone for your advice. I have put a request on the YT classifieds. It's just a matter of time :) |
