No worries. Yorkies are rodent killers by nature. Not to mention there are a lot of dogs (breeds) that will kill a bunny if given the chance. My 8 year old yorkie Ginger not only kills bunnies, but she also eats them. I have seen her chewing on things numerous times and found a half eaten bunny or bird. Oh yeah, she somehow manages to catch and kill birds too. |
Oh my, what a cutie! I couldn't imagine him killing anything, but then again...Yorkies were bred to kill small rats and things. I would flip out if Katie Scarlett brought me anything like that. LOL. I think it's just him doing what is natural, although I do feel sorry for the bunnies! ;) |
can U send him to visit my house for a while. I live in a farn typr community and we get field mice and I HATE thos little buggers |

Our little guy loves to kill mice. (Grosses me out:rolleyes:) We have lots of rabbits and so far he has not bothered their babies but I am sure if he had the chance he would. Like others have said it is just their natural instinct. We have a squirrel that lives in a tree in our front yard that has learned to taunt them. It will get within 3 feet of them and chatter at them till they chase it back up the tree lol. I love watching them outside. |
I think your baby is just being a Yorkie & following his instincts. |

He looks so innocent and adorable. :D:D I agree.. he's probably being his breed. I can't help imagine how he must have looked when he brought in his "gifts" :D |
My little Yorkie just got a baby bunny tonight and a vole last month. It makes it a little more comforting knowing she is not the only bloodthirsty yorkie out there. Any ideas to clean out her mouth? The thought of her licking me right now grosses me out! |
These little guys are pretty safe not known for terrorizing animals They are hearders. Mine play with my step daughters g pigs. If you are concerned keep the littl guy away from where the bunnies are. If you don't correct the behavior then you will continue to have this issue. What happened after the first time this happened |

Yorkies are terriers (i.e. bred to hunt vermin) - not herders. And are certainly known for terrorizing little animals. |
Absolutely! When we got our first yorkie we were asked if we had any small rodent pets, such as guinea pigs, hamsters, rats, mice, gerbils, rabbits, etc. and were told that a yorkie will instinctively kill them any chance they get. |
