My dog's sleep in their kennel at nite. by 7.30 or8.00 I say bed time and they go and get in by them selves. My bed is really high and i'm scared they will jump and hurt their selves. I have step's but they don't seem to use them. as long as they are safe is what matter's to me. If I go to the couch during the nite then they come and lay on me. aren't yorkies and chihuahuas amazing?:p |
My Sophia is going to be 2 in september she has really been good but lately shes been peeing wen she comes from inside so annoying |
Corky is SUPPOSE to sleep in his crate in my daughters room. But he sleeps in her bed with her. |
Truffles sleep with us in our bed between us. she goes be 10:30's wake up for potty at 6:00am. never accident in bed ever! proud mom. :) |
Our girls sleep with DH and I. I agree with everyone who said they wouldn't have it any other way. :) I would miss the warm little body next to me. |
Ahi started off sleeping in a crate next to my bed just so I could make sure she didn't have any accidents. It lasted a week. She then moved to her Cloud 9 bed that is leveled with mine.(I have a futon bed on a low platform) So she starts off sleeping with her skin sister, up to her bed, on my pillow, behind or in front my knees and half on her bed/half on mine. Come to think of it she moves around a lot...depends if she gets hot or cold. LOL She also just jumps off the bed and goes to her pad in the bathroom if she has to pee in the middle of the night...rarely though. :D |
Tatiana sleeps in her bed that's in a exercise pen by my bedside. The exercise pen is open on top. Within the exercise pen, there is also a potty tray (which she occasionally uses in the middle of the night, or early morning), and a bowl of water. Tatiana take herself to bed (in the exercise pen) every night. When I go to bed, I simply close the gate. When I get up in the morning, I open the gate (oftentimes, she's still sleeping). Like other yorkies here, Tatiana is a good sleeper. She takes herself to bed around 8p, and she gets up around 8a the next morning. This little girl sleeps for 12 hours! She's healthy per her vet. She has no medical issues. She's just a good sleeper. |
Tried crating Gizmo, but after a month of only 2 hour max nights sleep (this was during my wedding as well) I finally caved, pulled him into bed with us, he fell asleep there and has been at the foot of out bed ever since. :) |
Hailey sleeps in a pen that's just big enough for a bed on one side and a pee pad on the other for accidents. the pen is right next to my bed. when she is trained a little better she will most likely be sleeping with me in bed. probably a few more months. |
1 Attachment(s) Maggie sleeps in her bed. I was afraid of rolling over and suffocating her. She sleeps in her crate and if she gets up early for some reason she will join me/us up in the bed. Sometimes when I watch TV up in bed she will come snuggle then too. She seems to like her crate as I often open it aaround 10:30 am and she just looks at me. Here is a pic of her in her crate. Also, I have baby monitor that I turn on when something wakes me (like hubby getting up early) and I can listen in case she gets woken up and has to pee. One good thing about the crate (2 things!) is that it is her safe spot. She goes there when she gets overwhelmed like when we were getting wood floors installed and the saw scared her. Also, if we ever are not home at night she knows that is where she sleeps and I think it would be easier to get her to bed than if she slept in our bed and then one night we weren't there. |
Gracie sleeps in my bed. She has been pee pad broken since she was very young. She has steps to get down off the bed if she needs to go and then she comes back up and cuddles back to sleep. You may need to set up a feeding schedule for your dog. Make sure you take him for a walk long before bed time so he gets himself emptied out. It sounds like he is not properly trained yet. Feed him around supper time and no more after that. Just make sure he get plenty of exercise before bedtime so he won't need to have to go again until morning. A puppy that is 6 months or older will not soil their sleeping area unless they have no other choice. He needs to be taken out. |
In bed with me! U out her pee pad in the room or to in the hall. |
Does Ur dog go potty during sleep time? It happens to me alot but I font use a crate though |
The girls (Rosie and Gracie) sleep with me, wherever that may be. If I fall asleep on the couch, they are with me. The bed, right next to me. I also have a large comforter on the floor and Rocky likes it there. :) |

Kaji sleeps in bed with me. I even bought a new bed frame that's low to the ground for him to easily hop on and off. His piddle pad is in the bathroom. He gets up, walked over there to do his business, then comes back to bed. Yorkies are such smart pups! |
In my bed. :) |

Brody sleeps above my head and Sophia sleeps by my feet! |
It's so funny, a dog sleeping in their humans bed is so natural to me. I grew up thinking it was just.. the norm. All of my close family & friends have their dogs in their bed - and I grew up with a Golden Retriever and a German Shepherd! The Shepherd was in my bed most of the night and the Golden slept with my parents. My aunts Rottie slept with her, as does her Pit Bull now. My grandma's Foxhound and cat are in bed with her every night. My dads dogs are in bed with them... even my mom who is NOT the biggest dog person slept with their dog every night, etc, etc, etc. LoL. I guess we have a very animal loving family, but yeah, as a kid, I thought it was SO weird to see dogs in crates?! It just didn't happen in our house. Now I see how important they can be for some dogs, but I'll never personally be into crating. I realize some dogs can't be trusted, so I guess we've just been lucky. |
I've slept with my dog ever since I was a toddler so having Tibbe right next to me on the pillow nights is quite natural to me. |
5 Yorkies with me, in my bed, every night! Every one has their "spot", and we all do just fine...I have a ramp so no jumping up/down off bed...and pee pad in corner of bedroom for any night time potty breaks....two wake up with me in the morning at 4am, the rest sleep in..... |
Mine have their crates for night and beds in living room for during the day but if there is a lot of noise such as the sweeper or such I find them in my room in their crates. Each of their crates has a soft bed and a fleece blanky I made them and they love them. |
Maggie and Lilly sleep in bed with us and snuggle up so tight against me that I'm nearly falling out of bed. LOL My other 2 dogs usually sleep with the kids. When they were puppies, I would still have them on the bed. I would feel them get up and I would run them outside real quick. We rarely had an accident on the bed. |
my two sleep on the pillow together beside my head, with stairs giving them access to floor and out to the hall where there is a pee pad, but so far Tufty who is only 15 weeks sleeps through the night and keeps it until we go outside for morning peeps and poops. I guess I'm fortunate |
Lil Miss Cherry sleeps in her own bed until about 5am. Then she get in the bed between me & my hubby. I get about 6 and he gets under the top cover and sleeps until my hubby gets up 10 or 11 (he works to 2am). They are so cute. But when it is cold yes she starts out in our bed. She is a daddys girl. |
