I happened to go to Waggin' Trains facebook and leave a comment https://www.facebook.com/waggintrain...t=feed_comment and was just surprised but how delusional this company is. I just wanted to encourage anyone who has had a sick dog and or the death of a dog due to these terrible treats to get a report from your vet and send it in to the company. We have got to try to figure out how to stop these people.

Can you imagine the money that company is making!? They have those things in about every kind of store imaginable that sells pet supplies! They won't stop selling them until they are forced to. I agree that if the vets would be more outspoken about this maybe someone would pay attention. A few owners trying to stand up to a big company like this is not going to be enough.

I know I just wish we could do something.

And their product is still on the shelf. DH and I went to wal mart the other day and he said hey babe, aint those the treats they are talking about that are killing dogs and some lady was standing there and she said what. She had no idea and had been buying them for her furkids. Thanks to DH she will no longer be buying them.

I noticed they were still out there too. That is so sad that they are allowed to still sell them. For that matter, anyone that is selling the products produced in the same area. Go look at the treats, most of them are from China.

I thought about "shopping" at Petsmart Saturday and anytime someone went to buy those treats tell them about it but I am sure Petsmart would think I was up to something if I were in there all day lol. I can't seem to figure out where there headquarters is does anyone know?

I looked at the treats in Walmart and they are mostly garbage. They still sell tons of rawhide and it is well known how harmful rawhide can be.
I really am against government regulation of a lot of things but someone needs to start governing the pet food industry. There are always people out to make money no matter what the cost to the consumer. The only thing I buy for Gracie are the bully sticks. I know it's gross but the animal has been killed anyway and not using every part of the body would be a waste. They are what would be considered a "meat by product" and are probably in a lot of dog foods anyway.

I would never, ever buy anything for my babies from Walmart. They have the cheapest of cheap things on their shelves for dogs and cats. They would sell anything as long as people buy it. Shame on them.

Even Petsmart and Petco are still selling these treats as well as Target and CVS.

yes, and as a matter of fact, last time i was in petsmart in my area the 1st thing when you walk in was a giant display full of waggin train jerky. it made my heart sink to my stomach thinking of the people who are not aware of the problem with them and giving them to their beloved pets! i did mention it to the lady cashier who was checking me out and she apparently never heard of this! i agree there absolutely needs to be a way to stop them!

the 1st class action lawsuit has been filed and i'm sure many more will be speaking up. the man is from my area (near chicago) and his beloved pom died from these treats. this link is his story and will take you to several photos of pets who have died at the fault of waggin train making $$$. i did have a bag of these that someone bought my girls as a gift (meaning well) a couple years ago. my sweet zowi got diahrrea from 1 treat and they went straight to the trash. thankfully i never gave them to my girls other than that 1 time. the pom in this story only had 3 treats, one per day for 3 days, the treats were stopped, and she died about 10 days later from kidney failure. this just breaks my heart!

i have told everyone i know about them and i will not personally buy any purina products. keep spreading the word everyone - please!!!!!

it is so pathetic that they are still selling this crap. i agree everytime i go to walmart it makes me sick to see the waggin garbage still there on the shelf. spreading the word and alerting people is the best way of getting them to shut down. so rotten these companies dont care that they are killing furrbabies. i wonder if the people who work there feed them to their own furrbabies.

We have loads of rawhide stuff here in theu.k what is wrong with it. I have been giving it to my Stafordshires for years?

real rawhide makes my dogs sick. they are also almost choke on it so i think that what makes them sick along with the fact that my doggies do not digest it well. the bullies and hymalian chews work very well for us.

It swells when its wet inside the stomach and intestines and can cause a blockage.

Thanks. Will keep a good eye on my pups when they are trying the rawhide. I ordered bullysticks from amazon for the pups. My bigger dogs scoffed them so have ordered double this time. The pups are only 4 months but managed to finish the bully in a few hours.

Purina does not care they are killing dogs. My Zoey was murdered by them through these treats. I will never buy another Nestle Purina product or support a pet store that sells them. Most people don't even know Purina owns Waggin Train or Canyon Creek.

Is the name of Purina on the Waggin Train bag? I have looked at it and found very little info about how it is made or by who.

i plan on hand writing letters to each of these companies corporate office (and others) explaining how much i love their stores and frequent them but will no longer shop there for any reason until these products are off the shelves. i plan on including a copy of the fda warnings in each of my letters to back up my statements. i am also handing out copies of the fda warnings to everyone i know that has pets and urging them to spread the word too. if anyone else writes to any of these companies and gets a response, please let me know what you have heard back.
i feel so terrible for all those who have had a pet become ill or die from these tainted treats and i hope it never happens again to a furry family member. my step-sister lost 2 brittany spaniels within 2 weeks of each other from kidney failure after consuming waggin train treats a couple years back. this has to stop!

Have you thought of filling a report and maybe a lawsuit that would also help get the word out and might eventually make something happen. I had no idea Purina owned them until I did some research. I don't have a choice but to shop at Petsmart and Petco its the only pet stores we have.

I want to urge everyone reading this to do everything you can because if enough of us step forward and do anything we can it can make a difference. Email and write your news stations, news papers, stores selling the treats, the company and if you have been effected file a lawsuit.

The name Purina is not on the bag but they do own Waggin Train as well as Canyon Creek

I first called Waggin Train and Canyon Creek both said yes they are owner Purina. When I called Purina to complain they connected me back to Waggin Train.

I have filed complaint with the FDA, Waggin Train, Canyon Creek, and Purina.

Someone did file a lawsuit recently and I posted on it.

Purina doesn't want people to know they are the makers that is why they are not on the label.

Plus when they bought the company (2 or so years ago) they agreed to keep the plant/production in China per the Purina rep I talked too.

I was interviewed about this but the story was scrapped due to it being "too controversial," and "liable and slander" against the company.

I just amazes me that when I posted on there fb page they act like its a perfectly fine treat and all well when its not. I sure would like to see them feed it to there dogs sense they think it is all fine and dandy.

I am so sorry for your loss. It could very easily have been Callie, we fed her two of those treats a day. We need to unite more then not and so much can be done. I try to post something about it everyday on my facebook page and tell people when I'm out as much as possible. I have written Petco and Petsmart.

I am able to buy from 2 small independent pet stores near me. I did not even know they existed til Zoey got sick. I will not buy from Petco or Petsmart as long as they sell this death bombs. They have them on display cases for $5 at the front of the store as you walk in the door. Very sick. I have educated many of the employees and have heard them telling others not to buy them and referring than to other brands. I do take Buddy to Petco for training lessons (bought before Zoey got sick and can't get my money back). I use both places for training sessions with Buddy but won't purchase from them and tell other customers not to buy it and why after that it is their choice.

This whole thing is so outrageous! I am sick of this country being sold out to China. People are concerned about the unemployment rate and yet just about anything you buy these days is make in China either totally or in part! How can it possibly be cheaper to make a product all the way on the other side of the world and then ship it all the way back here? If business conditions are so bad in this country then we need to elect officials that will bring industry back to this country both for quality purposes as well as supplying employment for those who have learned not to work for a living. We actually pay people not to work while shipping our industry to the other side of the world......and borrow money billions from China to do it! Something is not right here and it's time to do something about it at every level!
