| Whats wrong with my Yokies ear! So for the past few weeks my dog has had this weird patch on his ear that is swollen and crusty. I have taken him to the vet and he told me to change his diet and give him these drops which are called Zymox ( its a hydrocortisone for dogs ) after the cycle the inflamtion and dryness still is there. What is this and what can I do to get rid of it. There is no evidence of pain and no mood or diet issues that are an effect of this odd thing on his ear. Any help will be greatly apprciated! |

| I'd get a second opinion, perhaps from a vet-dermatologist, especially since it doesn't seem to be improving. Good luck with this, I hope you get an answer and a fix.

| aaaww the poor baby. last month my yorkie zowi had a yeast infection in her ears and she had some swelling from scratching but i did not see anything like this on her. she had to go back once a week to have it rechecked and it took 3 weeks to be completely gone although each week she did improve. was there a cytology done on the ears? (check for bacterias under microscope) i would be concerned and taking my baby back in if anything like this came up. sorry i don't have any other advice for you. please keep us updated.
