| HELP! 17 year old Yorkie in Georgia needs help Is there anyone in or near Monroe, Georgia that can help me? I was just made aware of a 17 year old Yorkie dumped at a kill shelter when his owners went to assisted living. I'm horrified - This baby boy needs a soft bed, and love, not a jail cell! I'm strapped financially after Benjamin's initial expenses, and the emergency vet care for Gina, as well as her euthanasia and cremation, but I've got to find a way to get him out of there - Is there anyone in the area? Or anyone willing to help me out? I'd be happy to welcome him here and let him live out his final days in love and comfort as I've done for many seniors before him - But I wouldn't want to see such an old Yorkie shipped, I'd probably need to raise enough to cover a plane ticket for me to fly to Georgia to collect him, pay vet expenses there for a health certificate and whatever he needs prior to travel, and then vet expenses once I get him here. I'll see if I can post the picture - It broke my heart, he's matted so bad you can barely tell he's a York, so unless he has no teeth, I'm sure he'll need a major dental, if he's healthy enough to undergo anesthesia, and a full senior wellness panel at the very least. I'm sure I'm easily talking about $1500 or more for the expenses to get him here, and get any and all medical needs taken care of. I just can't bare the thought of a 17 year old dying in a kill shelter, he deserves to live out his last days with someone who loves him! Or if there's someone closer that can go get him and love him - let me know and I'll get you the information!!!! I just really want to see this guy make it out of the shelter!

| Update - Sadly, I just called the shelter to verify the information. 17 year old Snoopy was indeed there, but he went to the rainbow bridge on Sunday RIP SNOOPY! http://www.waltonpets.net/Pages/AdoptableAnimals.aspx Here's the shelter he was out - Scroll down nearly to the bottom and you'll see poor Snoopy.

| I cannt imagine anyone putting a 17yrold tiny dog in the pound! My heart is so sad at his passing. I have my mother's 11yr old pom, because mom went to a nursing facility. I swore to my mother that I would not let her baby, that she took when her sister passed away,go to anyone but me. |

| heart breaking end - He probably died of a broken heart when the only home he'd probably ever known abandoned him It always hurts when the family of elderly individuals or couples feel no responsibility to make sure their pets get into safe homes and just dump them in a shelter! Snoopy deserved to die warm and happy on someone's bed, not alone in a shelter! But sadly millions of dogs die just that way

| Aw, poor baby The old folks that had to give him up may not have had any family, so he ended up in the pound RIP Snoopy!

| This is just heartbreaking, that poor little gut loved his Mom and Dad for all that time and then ended up like this. He deserved so much more
