Sad to think that people are like this, poor dogs.. I cannot find any bad reviews/reports on her or her company that has been in business for 10 years (I did some brief research before and I am doing extensive now). After all of this is settled and I am satisfied (in hopes that the breeder will stick to her word with contracts, terms and conditions) I will be doing my detailed review.

I agree. I am getting to the point I do most of my reading in other parts of the forum because when I see new pet owners seeking advice instead of trying to educate them we make remarks that hurt their feelings and teach them nothing because they are made to feel stupid. I hope I have never done this and if I have I apologize right now for it. Please like has been suggested OP stay around and read lots of the forum not only here but in the breeding section and then make informed decisions for yourself.

I am here, like most folks, to advocate for the Yorkies, I'm sorry you disagree with my post, hopefully others who come along will be educated by this thread. Hopefully the OP sees the errors of her ways and gets something from it too...there is nothing pretty about byb, puppymills, brokers, nothing and I will not pretend I don't see it.

I am not accusing anyone of being rude. But before this turns into a bash thread maybe everyone could consider that many people come her completely uninformed about the animal breeding industry. This is a good place to educate people but that impossible if we drive people off with with insults before they are able to learn anything. We have all seen it happen. It makes some people feel better but it has accomplished nothing in the way of changing things.

Do you care to post the site where you found your pup, so that those who are quick to judge can take a look at it before labelling this breeder a byb. I know from experience how some people can throw labels around without first hand knowledge of the person. Which in my opinion is totally uncalled for.

Do you know for sure that this women let the 2 pups go to the other breeder at 5 weeks or just that they were spoken for at 5 weeks? Those are two very different things!

I'm confused --why are you sure that she pulled a switch on you? No breeder can tell you at 5 weeks or 8 weeks or 12 weeks exactly how big or small a Yorkie is going to be as an adult. They cannot guarantee size.

It is very possible for a pup to grow the amount you stated in your initial post.

As referenced by my response below, I think others, including myself, have told her she is not dealing w a good or ethical breeder. We were not pretending anything; it's just called having a command of the English language. Thank you for the accusation of pretending she is dealing w a good breeder. ;)

I'm sorry to say, I don't think you are dealing w a reputable breeder. First, to be placing dogs so young does not seem very ethical. Does this breeder have her dogs tested and are her dogs healthy (you said a smaller girl was unhealthy)? I would want to make sure she has good lines health-wise if I was going to entertain breeding.

Make them feel stupid? What about them making us feel stupid for wasting our time posting, by not being upfront from the beginning???

'Was I duped by a breeder who did a switcheroo, cos my pup seems bigger than I was expecting'.... is a HELLUVA lot different than.... "do you think my new pup will be too big to breed with my current pup, cos I wanna be a BYBer". If the OP had been upfront from the get-go, maybe some of us wouldn't have wasted our time responding to it.

Yea, my original question is, will this puppy be bigger than I projected for him to be? I have one yorkie and I want a smaller boy. Who cares why, I answered because maybe I want a litter of a few for friends and family. I AM NOT AN IGNORANT BYB! Thanks! :angry:

I am asking breeders if this is common, because turns out I find out today my dog WAS switched! The breeder I bought from is taking responsibility.

I am not going to say where or who at this time. She said in a text message that she let the 5 weeks go to another breeder, I bought the pup at 3 weeks, two weeks later she sold him. She told me she thought I wanted a different one.

She is taking care of the mistake with no issue. If it happens a second time, then I will take proper action.

She told me she thought I wanted a different one. She is taking the pup back, and giving me the option of another pick (at 6 weeks) or refund.

So we have two separate issues here - one being that the puppy was 'switched' prior to being sold to the OP at eight weeks . . and is now being replaced.

The second issue being that the OP wants to breed the two dogs and doesn't want the male to be too large.

I think I have it right. OP, sounds like a mighty shady operation with all this switching going on. I hope you reconsider your idea to breed the replacement puppy.
