Hello and welcome from the UK! :) :wavey: Congratulations on your little baby - you made a wonderful choice! :D Sally + Harry :aimeeyork x |
Welcome & if you are like me, by another 2 mos., you will be living and breathing all things Yorkie. When my first Yorkie was only 4 mos. old, he was still a puppy and had not come into what I would call his full "Yorkiness" yet. To me, they have to be about 6 mos. old before you begin to see all the special traits of the breed coming out in the dog and marking himself as different from every other breed. Yorkies are to me just the best of all breeds & the longer you have one, the more special they become. They are true terriers in every sense of the word and you have to watch them because of that. They are really personal dogs and shoulder your moods and problems just like a close friend or relative. They probably love to cuddle more than most dogs and love to be in near constant contact with you. You probably will never find a more loving breed. They are wonderful watch dogs and will let you know any strange sounds or strange smells on or near their property. You will learn a lot here about them here and I wish I had found this site long ago based on how much I've learned from this community in a little over a year. I hope you enjoy this site as much as we all do. Your little Sophie is truly precious! |

I did a lot of research before choosing a Yorkie breeder and when I went to meet Sophie at 12 weeks I actually could have left with Sophie's mom and the other Yorkie dog that was there at the time too. They were all so sweet! Usually your drawn to the puppy but in this case, I would of been happy with any one of them! I can not express how much I love Sophie so much already and it is their personality that makes them so special and sweet! P.S. That is an adorable picture of Tibbe on your avatar! |

I agree this is an amazing forum...I read it for a couple of weeks before getting Sophie. At what age did Couver and Khloe Mae let you put hair 'pretties' and clothing on them? Sophie will not let me put anything on her. I try something every couple of days and cave when I see how much she hates having it on. |
Well, you have come to the right place. You learn all kinds of things here. |
Welcome to YT! :) Your little Sophie is adorable. |

Welcome to you and Sophie. Lol, Yorkies are different than any breed I've ever had. Most breeds want to please you, with Yorkies it's almost like they want to please themselves. It just makes them seem more independent. They are sensitive souls though, and the wrong training can end you up with a neurotic dog who suffers from panic attacks and other things. I think the best advice my breeder gave me was to ignore the potty mistakes and praise the success, and buy a big bottle of Nature's Miracle! |
Welcome to YorkieTalk. Gratz on getting a Yorkie. They are such an amazing companion. I first really found out about them 20 years ago, but had another breed at the time. Then I got a close up and personal opportunity to spend time with one and that did it for me. It took my wife some convincing, but now, she'd kick me out before Bailey. Enjoy! |
