I like it ecause I can find exactly what I need. Right now Im purchasing koi for my pond so thats all Im looking at and deciding on. I dont really purchase alot for my yorkies anymore. I did purchase alot of outfits and things untill they were around 2 or 3 they are 6 now and I just dont need anything for them |

Whoa...! this is like looking in a mirror! but it doesn't stop with clothes and toys... I have double and single car seats, floppy beds in every room, enough leashes, harnesses and collars to start my own dog walking service, and piles of paw print dog blankets in every size. I have four sizes of sling carriers and a stroller. Max and Marley have more designer hair care products than any teenage girl, and enough over the counter ear wash/eye wash, calming drops, and dental care products to start our own clinic. I take some sollace in the fact that Marley started out at the weight Max is now, so most of the clothes and harnesses are being passed down. My daughter says, petulantly, that my fur-kids have it better than she did. |
No you are not alone. We pick up stuff all the time for ours girls. My daughter sometimes comments that we should not waste money on something and then she picks it something she wants and says we should get it for the girls. :D I pick up stuff for the furgirls and my real baby girl too. All of them are spoiled. My poor son does not have a chance but he was the only one for many years . Besides he's an adult now (ha ha). |

Oops... I forgot... the Invisible Fence I put in cost nearly $1400. But the lives it is saving and the peace of mind it gives me are priceless. |
Where is KatyScarlett? Now, that is one pampered pooch! I think the picture of that little girl in her airplane-print dress being held by the Captain on her last plane trip says it all... All the rest of us are amateurs... LOL! |

Hi, my name is Brittany and I have a dog spending addiction *waves* I spent WAY too much. He gets a package every other week at least. Sometimes it's the necessities (like, like last week I got flea/tick meds) but I just LOVE spending money on him, LOL. Oh well. It's my money, and I don't buy a whole lot for myself. Some women spend money on shoes, purses, clothes.. I spend mine on dog items! LOL |
2 Attachment(s) It's good to know I'm not the only one with a problem! I feel rather sane now. I KNEW I came to the right place when I joined Yorkie Talk! You know what they say about birds of a feather flocking together. Now with my new addition of Daisy, I get to spend money on TWO dogs. They are so spoiled and pampered that most of my friends are convinced I'm crazy. I'll take crazy as long as I have my furbutts right next to me any day over being sane and surrounded by humans. Though, please don't ever tell my dogs that they're of the canine species. I think it would devastate them both to the point where we'd need doggie counseling! Seriously though... does that look like a neglected dog to you? |
I spent a lot when I first got Gracie for things like steps and car seat and carrying bags. I never really bought a lot of extras for a dog until Gracie. Since she gets cold so easily I had to invest in some clothing. She has sweaters, shirts, a few dresses and a couple of coats and socks of course. But it's not like I have to keep buying clothing for her as I did for my kids. She is not getting any bigger. I do spend regularly on her food. I get the very best food for her because I feel that is the most important thing I can do for her in the long term. Of course her grooming products are an ongoing expense between the shampoo, conditioner and conditioning sprays as well as going to the groomer when necessary. I just bought another sized grooming comb and some grooming bands. There are ongoing expenses that I guess I could avoid but if we are spending money that is not reserved for bills and household expenses then I guess it's not a bad thing. It's something I want to do for her. I do a lot for my grand kids and I give to charitable organizations as well so it's not like she is the only focus of my spending. Now, that is my defense. |
I was spending a lot on outfits but then I decided to make them myself and it is way cheaper. I spend most of mine on vet bills. I have 6 dogs and it seems like one of them is always due for something lol |
I am very glad I do the bills :). I am a sucker for dresses and I have HAD to try a lot of grooming products because of Angels unique coat. Hubby would have a stroke if he knew how much I spent on the Chris Christensen brush and comb but they are the only thing that works on this soft, fine cotton coat. And I am still trying to find just the right shampoo/conditioner/spray combo. There is a new book out about Coton grooming and hope to get some new tips. I am glad Hubby stays out of the laundry room. I keep all her clothes in there and I am afraid the shock of seeing all the dresses, coats, overalls, pants, skirts, shirts, jammies in one place might be too much for him! |
