How about a really big crate? And I mean Great Dane size? Big enough for all your puppy's bits and pieces, bed, food, water and room to stretch out and play? :) I seem to have issues with any pen I've used, for any of my dogs....Sally + Harry x |

Maybe you could check your local papers and craigs list for a large metal crate that you could keep her in while you are away.Sometimes you can find a good deal on a used one. Just remember that no dog should be confined for long periods of time. They learn nothing being confined by themselves except how to be bored and they tend to bark and become destructive. Until you find a large enough crate you could try buying a really secure baby gate to confine her (make sure it does not have soft plastic that she could chew through) to an uncarpeted bathroom or other small room while you are gone. Some of the metal pet gates that they sell online and at pet stores have a latch that lets people walk through without having to step over it. You need to remove any trash baskets and other things on the floor. Make sure there are no electrical cords etc. I'm glad you are spending so much time with your puppy. The first months are very important and the best time to get as much training in as you can. All dogs require a lot of time, training and care but puppies need so much more. If you train her well you may be able to take her with you lots of places when she is older. |
