Very long story short...My Dad's neighbor has a Yorkie, named Daisy. Daisy's dad died in October, 2010, and she became VERY close with my Dad. Her mommy would leave for work, and *BAM!* out the doggie door she went, headed towards my dads house. (They live at the lake in a country environment.) Every day her and my Dad would hang out all day. My dad was lonely and she missed her daddy.

She brought me SO MUCH comfort during my Dads final days this past December. :) I begged her Mommy to let me adopt her...to which her reply was not in a million years. :D

I decided to get a Yorkie in honor of my Dad, who loved Daisy SO much. I found a breeder close to his house, and about 6 weeks after my Dad passed away, we adopted Teddy.

I don't love him for his coat...I love him because he's sweet, gentle, snuggly, and he brings me comfort and reminds me of my Dad. :) He's exactly what I was looking for. I know my Dad led me to him.

So many people have already commented on this thread. I just want to say, I've looked at all the attached pics and avatar pics, and your babies are just beautiful! :)
That's such a sweet story. I am sorry your Dad passed away:( Teddy will bring you so much joy:D

We adopted Teddy the day before he turned 4 months old. :) I wish I'd seen him way younger, although I do have a puppy picture from the breeder. :D

He looks so much like my sweet Georgie boy:D I am sure he will be as spoiled too ;)

Well, what ever kind of coat he has as a grown up Yorkie he probably will not have an undercoat as most Yorkies just don't have them. That is why your little guy is cold and that is why so many of us have a closet full of sweaters and coats and pajamas for our little pets. Even if you don't want to invest much in the way of dog clothing you may want to pick up a coat for him to wear outside. These little ones don't have the kind of insulation that many dogs have so they need a little help in that department.

He's an adorable little guy!:)

welcome to yorkie talk! and sorry about your dad. I LOVE your little yorkie's facial expression those eyes just adorable! not sure on the coat, my yorkie is 10 months today and he is my first yorkie, his coat I would say is between cotton and silky and I can't wait till his final coat comes in and the color.

I also come here to learn. I am a new yorkie owner, but I've loved them always. I have learned so much in the 2 1/2 months that I've been a member here. I don't always comment, but I'm always reading. This place is just a wealth of knowledge.
