Hello everyone I'm new. Hi everyone, I'm glad I've found this site. We are getting 2 girl yorkie's in April. We have been waiting for such a long time. I'm trying to get everything ready for when they arrive, so any advice would be great. What grooming equipment will I need? I plan on growing there coats. Any name ideas would be great aswell. Thanks everyone, you should see me a lot on here.:) |
no advice just wanted to say congrats on getting your little girls next month! |
Welcome to YT! :) For sure you will need a brush and comb for them and some great washing products that you will be able to find here in the sellers threads. I'm a big shopaholic for my little Yorkie so it might not be wise to ask me. lol Cause i'll say yes to almost everything. ;) Please post some pics when you get your little girls. |
Welcome to YT! Can't wait to see pictures of your girl's homecoming! |
How exciting! You will have the time of your life. Getting ready for them is just so much fun. Be sure and read all of the stickies at the top of this forum. It has lots of good advice about the things you need, etc.:) Welcome to YT! |
I forgot to refer you to the grooming forum. You can read the stickies at the top of that forum and look through some of the threads to decide what grooming equipment you will need. A good pin brush without balls on the end, a good metal comb to remove mats, a good quality puppy shampoo, and I use tearless baby shampoo on her face near her eyes, a good heat-adjustable blow dryer, nail clippers. These are just a few items. I use a couple of different size grooming shears and good quality scissors for trimming hair. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yorkie-grooming-talk/ |
Welcome to YT. It is good to begin training on day one. Teach your Yorkies that being touched is a good thing. If you want them to have full coats, it is good to start grooming them daily. Learn how to groom them correctly and what tools work best. There are many traing ideas, health facts and stories in the Yorkie Talk library. I also encourage you to read at least a few books about training a puppy. I suggest : Dog Perfect by Sarah Hodgson, 1000 Best Dog Training Secrets by Robyn Achey and Bill Gorton and Dog Dilemmas by Gary R. Sampson DVM with Dick Wolfsie. We all would love to see pictures of your new babies. Best Wishes, Teresa |
How exciting!! How old are they? Are they puppies from the same litter? We are about a week away from getting our puppy as well and I've been considering getting 2 (but one boy and one girl!) Can't wait to see pics! |
Just wanted to say Hi! Welcome! and cant wait to see pics of them. |
What an exciting and fulfilled life you are going to have with your new additions :) Grats! |
Welcome to YT and congrats on your new Yorkie girls. Can't wait to see them around! |
Hello and welcome, 2 little girls will be so much fun for you, just be careful, they wrap you right around their little paws and steal your heart. |
I feel your excitment all the way here. :D I hope you post tons of pictures so we can watch your daughters grow up. I have a new daughter too. Her name is Jilli Ann. She was born Sept. 4th, 2011. Have you chosen names for your girls yet? |
Thanks for your messages everyone, yes they are from the same litter, we have chosen the name Roxy for one of our new babies, but we are still trying to decide on another name. What types of brushes/combs do I need to get. I'm from the uk so everything is a bit different here. |
Oooh Two!!!! You are doubly blessed! Welcome to YT and congratulations on your new additions. Can't wait to see pics of your angels! |
