| Hearing about this stuff makes me sick. I have read about many precious Yorkies stolen in TX. I think it is only a misdemeanor here to rob someone of their beloved pet. There was a movement to get the severity of the crime raised, but our state legislature is much more concerned about F1 racing and taking away a women's right to make her own medical decisions to care about silly dogs. Maybe if they were livestock we could get some protections. I hope everyone is on a higher alert, and will never leave a yt in a back yard, car or let a stranger hold your dogs. Its bad enough we have to watch out for vicious dogs and hawks, but humans too? Almost makes you wish for end times, this world is way out of whack. |

| Oh my. People are sick sick sick. To read what they might do to a pet just makes my stomach hurt. Ughhhhh. People do need to read this so maybe they will follow the tips on ways to help prevent pups from being taken.

| Its horrible what people do. I have all of my dogs Microchipped, its the greatest invention ever. I can't imagine losing one of my babies to theft.

| This scares me so much... I'm already super paranoid (we have a security system and cameras on our property including one in the room they stay in during the day). My two are microchipped, wear tags 24/7... but I still worry. Isn't it a sad world we live in that we have to worry about our pets being stolen?

![]() Never thought I would say that. I am the one who came home to the wreck. After that, all security measures were taken. We even test our alarm monthly just to make sure it is working. Ha ha. Sometimes we test it without meaning too!! ![]() It is not about all the valuables they stole, but they also stole my families feeling of security and innocence toward these types of situations. They don't have a clue what things like this does to a 9 year boy. ![]() I honestly say it has forever changed all of our lives. Taking a pet is beyond cruel. Some of the items they took from us were replaceable. Of course some were not. But to steal a pet. Again, so glad Rosie was left. ![]() She was still a puppy then. Maybe they didn't know she was Yorkie or maybe they didn't want to mess with her. Thank God. I just can't imagine what people who go through this must be feeling. ![]()

When it happened to us, I was truly grateful we were not at home, I believe they would have hurt us, maybe even killed us. Thankfully our Yorkies were with us.

Yep...learn to use a firearm, and if you are not "a pretty good aim"...which I am glad to hear you are... ...understand there is not much of a point. My philosophy, which I now hear other people repeating like it is a published fact rather than my opinion... ...is that at most you have 3 attempts (shot attempts) if you have to use it. After failing by the 3rd shot, whoever/whatever will either be 'on' you...in which case you have a much more serious problem on your hands (and probably not the firearm anymore)...or they will have run away...Also, I personally do not think that it is that they "don't have a clue"...I think they don't care (is that 'clean' enough to print? ) what their breaking into homes does to the other people. Been there...been broken into myself. Fortunately, they just let my dogs out to wander and they came home later. We replaced the stuff...but, the psychological effects are crazy!!!Years ago, not long after moving here, I was warned by a Sheriff's Deputy that "they" steal dogs from backyards, neighborhoods, etc. to take to the forest to use for "target practice"... ![]() I think that was my first exposure to the evil-pet-thieves and while I was protective before, I have been very protective since then...about 1988...especially since about 1-2 weeks after hearing that, a neighbor's registered pup was removed from their locked fence and never seen again!

![]() I am glad we were not at home either. And your right, they don't care. They not only steal your stuff (which I have worked for since I was 13!!) but they also totally wreak your house. But like you said, it is the psychological effects that are the worse. People are sick to steal pups let alone use them for target practice! ![]() The world we live in is something else. And Teresa Ford you are right, when God is out this makes room for evil to take over. Sad but true. I am so sorry both of you had to deal with the same experience I did.
