I agree, get both and then there's no decision. :D However, if that's not possible, BlueBelle is right, the fluffy coat probably does mean a cotton coat and the tangling will be awful. Just ask my Gracie Ruth. *The girl does have a cute face. + for her *The boy obviously loves you. + for him *Belly Bands are a life saver with boys and panties are a pain for girls. + for him - for her *I have 4, 2 boys & 2 girls and 1 boy & 1 girl are snugglers. The other 2 are lovers, but on their terms. So not sure if you can really say one is better then the other. But this statement of yours says it all, to me. "She is a little too rambunctious for my daughter who does not like to be bitten" Go with the boy. :) |
TeresaM - That's exactly what I was trying to say, but you said it in a few lines, and I took a third of a page!! :D (Note to self: Sally, don't ramble so much...!!! :p) Sally + Harry x |
I say , get them both as yorkies are addicting & you will most likely get another in the near future anyway. Problem solved;) |
Love that baby girl face! |
My choice would be the girl because of the ear set but thats just me lol love them both. My little girl is more loveable with me and boy with hubby so hard to say on that one. |
Choose the one you want. Watery eyes is not unusual for a yorkie puppy. I wanted a girl but the litter was 2 boys. I am not sorry I ended up with a boy and often wonder why I wanted the girl. Copper is very, very loving. I had him neutered at 5 months. He does not mark on anything. Housebreaking him took a while. He is 2 now and is extremely good about that. If you want the girl, get her. The nipping can be trained out. Copper still play bites because we let him. Our key words are "no bite." Copper will stop and then start licking. It is not a problem. Good luck with your choice! |
Wow. Just saw the pictures. I want the one you don't pick.:) |
Hard decision. Both boy/girl ears are widest, boy has a tad longer muzzle. Couldn't tell anything else about structure as no pics showed it. But without more info, I'd go with the best temperament pup for your family. If the boy is gentle and loving, and doesn't nip, perhaps that is the most important for your family dynamics. I'm assuming all parents have been health tested, and the pups too. they should have bile acid tests prior to being adopted/bought |
I would get them both but there is something extra special about that little girl :) |
That boy puppy has picked you!! Pick him back!:animal36 |
Thank you SO much for all of your replies! I really wish getting both was an option but unfortunately it isn't. :( Believe me that's exactly what I would do lol! Every time I started swaying my decision more towards the girl I swear I would look over at the boy who was giving me puppy dog eyes and wanting me to hold him. I do keep wondering if the boy would be the better decision now as far as the biting/rough housing goes BUT can I really base it off of a 30-40 minute visit? I keep thinking the girl could of just been wide awake and ready to play while the boy could've just been tired from playing BEFORE we got there. I dunno! I seriously don't think I will make a decision. I really want to go see them again but they are 3 hours away so it's not so simple. Especially with gas prices the way they are right now. I know that soon the other puppies will all be chosen by other ppl so that is the only thing driving me crazy! If I had all the time in the world to make my choice it would be MUCH easier! I am glad to see that most of you wouldn't worry about the eyes watering! I am hoping that if we do choose the girl I can keep it under control. I hadn't thought of the fluffy fur being a problem but that has made me think as well. I am not 100% sure that they will have different coats but I do think the girl felt softer than the boy. I also noticed that the girl already has brown hair on the very top of her head and the boy is still black so she will probably be much lighter. Here are a few more pictures, I would love for the opinions to keep coming!! Here is a boy, he does seem to look more wirey here and not so fluffy and cute. boy2 | Flickr - Photo Sharing! Not the best pic but you can see all the cute white hair the boy has here boywhite | Flickr - Photo Sharing! |
I am a little confused in the one picture it says girl on right the ears are the widest apart in the next of the 2 pictures it says girl on left the boys are the wide set ones. Both cute anyway lol. |

I suggest you go strictly on personality. My Rubin's parents were both Champion Show dogs. He does not have their beautiful silky hair at all. The breeder plainly told me he would never have the show coat or perfect bite of his parents. She was right too. He stayed black and deep rust colors. I got him for much less than the other two pups in the litter. But it was not price that made me decide. He picked me. He loved me, zap... right now. My Rubyboy just turned 9 years old and I have never been sorry that I took a boy (I thought my heart was set on a little girl !) |
Oh my, how cute! I agree...are you sure you can't have both?! Tee hee! They are both adorable, but if it were me, I'd pick the girl. I love them both, but girls are just so much fun for me. I love our girl! But if I could, I'd have KS a brother in no time. ;) |
