Oh my gosh Lorraine! I know what you mean about catching flack for getting a registered dog. People at work get so uppity about my dog not being a rescue. We went to 3 shelters here in town and none of them would let us adopt a dog because of our work schedule. Our dog is left home alone for no longer than 2 hrs and 45 minutes at a time, but they weren't taking into effect our lunches --- blah blah complicated mess -- we couldn't adopt from a rescue. Wouldn't you know, though, 3 days after we brought Optimus home they called us back and had a dog "just for us". -.- So I figured if I have to buy a dog, I'm getting the one I want. We currently live on the 3rd floor. I *HAD* to have a small dog to be able to carry it up 4 flights of stairs when the dog is feeling rebellious and doesn't want to walk. So adopting a pitbull was just not gonna happen. Even registered puppies need love :( |

Wow, then my male must really not be a real yorkie. I got him for $300 as a rehome. He couldn't possibly be a REAL yorkie for that cheap :p LOL I would just ignore her... It sounds like she's not worth your time. |
Rescuing isnt for everyone. No one should get flack for getting a dog from a breeder. Your going to have the dog 12-15 yrs it should be the dog you want that is good for your circumstances |
I think you, yourself, need to set your MIL straight on being rude to you about anything. You have got to stand up for yourself, especially if the fiance wont. If you let her continue to be rude to you, it will just get worse. It is the same as bullying. You can tell her in a calm nice way that you do not like her rude comments and expect it to stop. This is how I would handle it. |

Well, maybe your fiance is not her real son because he is too nice to be her's. ;) |

:thumbup: Good point! :D Then there's also that pesky price issue that determines 'real' full-bloodedness...:p |

People like this drive me NUTS !!! Does it matter a hoot how much you paid for your loved one, I don't think so at all. Does it matter a hoot what your little baby looks like, I doubt it. As far as I am concerned you love the little thing and THAT is all that is required. Let people think what the hell they like the only thing that matters is what YOU think and you love that baby so tell her to go to hell and pay the entrance fee at the door. grrrrrrrrrrr :( |
I'll save the M-I-L comments. Bailey may or may not be a full blooded Yorkie. I have no idea and frankly I don't care. When he jumps up in my lap and gives me a big ole kiss, I know I'm loved and so is he. Is there anything else? |
Ah! That's too bad she was mean. I'll never understand it and don't want to, either.:) |

Girl, don't even worry about her. She already sounds like a handful. He's your baby and he is beautiful. Don't let her obvious ignorance get you down. You have a wonderful baby that loves you. I'm sure the fuss you make over him drives her crazy. LOL |
My vet actually listed my little one as a Yorkie-Pom mix on her chart AFTER I showed him her papers first visit, with the list of med history from her parents. Some people are just silly. Ignore the MIL, I always hear stories of how they are, I guess I got lucky. My MIL loves me to death and has never once been rude to me. >.> |
You got your dog to love and thats what counts! :)Love is real. Don't slap her. Ignore her......! She isn't worth it. |
Yorkie-Poo HairCut I have a Yorkie-Poo. She is a Teacup. She will be getting her first haircut soon. She is mostly white with some beige on her ears. What kind of haircut should she get? |
