| I'm in Anchorage, he only goes potty outside, he loves it out there sometimes I have to make him come in. He turned 12 wks and is 100% potty trained, he will bark everytime to go potty. It took alot of work but since he came home I took him out potty everytime he barks, he hasnt had any accidents since, and it stops him from barking at nothing also. Oh and his newest trick is "are you mad?" And then he growls, lol |

We heard this winter's been a cold one. DH is from Alaska...heavy on the "from" 'cuz he thawed out and hasn't been back but his family is still there. Not in Anchorage since the '64 quake' tho 'cuz their land was ocean-bottom after. I think the bark/outside 'trick' is Very Cool! We are planning to try the bark break/potty trick this weekend...hoping to end some of the barking that Brody and Mia have taken up as a hobby. That is so great that Joel is trained at 12 weeks. Yay for you!!! lol How cute!

| Ahhhhh, you make me feel so lazy and pathetic! I live in Buffalo, NY the Alaska of the North! I have been through the whole walking thing and out thing with the many other big dogs that I've had...and I'm over it, no more middle of the night OUTs, no more big accidents to clean up when I didn't get up fast enough, no more shivering in the snow waiting for them to finish...nothing worse than having to open that door to a blizzard and letting them out when I'm toasty warm....ahhhhh I don't miss it at all! I started to look at little dogs mainly for this reason! Oh my gosh is that bad? Buttt it really is for the best as my Miss Mini is so allergic to the outside world that she gets a shot every 2 weeks for it. Sadly, her biggest trigger is human dander! So I bow to you my Alaskan hero! p.s. this has been the most mildest winter we have ever had...not one storm, and way above average temps. But no snow to speak of is bizarre, honestly its scary. The last time we had a winter remotely close to this we had a rainy, and I mean rainy summer...

| I hear ya, lynzy420...I've shoveled my last bit of snow. Eight years in New England were enough. My Yorkie-Poo didn't care for that kind of cold and snow at all. He had a lot of Mommy-crocheted sweaters! We got a foot of snow 5/9/1977. Snow tires were long off the cars, everything. Moved to Florida from NH...been here longer than anywhere else now. It's now 57 F outside...warmer in the house but no heat. Think I need to put on some long sleeves now...

| Speaking of snow and shoveling, We have to shovel the roof everytime it snows! And who builds a flat roof in Alaska!? Now we have leaks in our roof and have to go to a hotel until they get it fixed. I guess it's a good opportunity to socialize Joel, lol. |
