The first day they are usually kind of sleepy and sore. The second day Gracie was feeling better and the third day I would hardly have known she had surgery. Dog's recover much more quickly from these things than people do. I have never used a cone on any of my animals after surgery and I have had many spayed and neutered. Of course if your not with her you may want to have one on her just in case. I hate those hard plastic things the vet has. It is so stressful on their necks. Someone on YT was selling the soft cones in a small size but they are also available on amazon . com. I guess it's too late for you to order one though. She will be better before you know it. |
Good luck...and prayers for a speedy recovery! |
Good luck tomorrow and prayers for a speedy recovery. It took Trixie about a week till she was her normal self. Her vet sent her home with a soft cone so that she wouldn't lick her stitches. Let us know how she is doing.....and try to keep yourself busy. |
How old is your Yorkie? |
Good luck with Brandy's spay tomorrow, she will do just great. :) When Maggie was spayed, they sent me home with some pain meds. We wound up giving her one dose that night and she was okay the next morning, just a little bit quiet. You'll want to keep her quiet for sure for the first few days. Once Brandy starts to feel a bit better, it will probably be hard to keep her from running around and jumping, but you definitely want to be calm. I put a onesie on Maggie and she peed right thru it before I could get to her. lol. It certainly didn't hurt anything, I just changed her into another. I have soft cone collars called the Kiss-E Collar, if you should decide you want to try one of them for Brandy. Best of luck and let us know how she does. :) |
I'll be thinking of you and Brandy today. She'll be OK :) |
