So sorry you got burnt. Burns are so painful. |
I'm so sorry you got burned. I'm a cook so it's an almost daily event but luckily nothing major (though the smallest ones can hurt like heck). If you can get to a doc, and should if it's blistered, there's a cream called silvadine (sp?) that works great. It soothes & heals amazingly. I hope it heals soon & there's little to no scarring. Glad the pup wasn't in there as well, you're a good mama to have the aforethought to protect your baby.:) |
Burns are ridiculously painful, I am so sorry! So glad your little one was not hurt. This is exactly why I have taught my dogs that they are not to be in the kitchen when someone is cooking. They still try but are quickly shooed away and are getting better at watching from the doorway. Everyone always laughs at that rule, but it's situations like this one that totally warrant it! Hope you heal up well, take care of yourself. |
ouch! sorry you are hurt and glad Lola is not! |
So sorry and hope you heal soon |
Thanks everyone. You guys are great! |
So sorry you were burned and I hope it heals well and quickly. Good mommy to keep your furbaby out of your little kitchen. I understand how scary it can be to have them underfoot. |
wow I hope you feel better soon! glad you used the gate... I use an xpen in the kitchen when its busy etc They are in the kitchen free when the kids are in school etc with a gate up,(they are 16 weeks) I can only keep track of one room to make sure there are no small toys etc on the floor lol I love gates!;) |
This is the reason my son won't let dogs in his kitchen when he is cooking. He made that edict when he got his current dog and I'll have to confess that since he told me what he had started with his Tex, I started trying to remember to keep Tibbe out when I am cooking. There is a lot of dangerous stuff going on in there with knives that could be dropped, any number of hot liquids that could get spilled on them, heavy appliances/pans that could get dropped on them. So I have tried to remember to keep Tibbe out and your story will certainly help with my resolve. Glad your baby and you are okay! |
Oh my! You poor thing! Good thinking on the baby gates though! I need to do that. Katie Scarlett is always at my feet when I cook. With our open concept kitchen, not sure I could do a gate, but her xpen is set up in there. I think I'll start making sure she is in there from now on. I hope your hand heals quickly too! |

Ouch! I am so sorry you were burned and I pray you recover quickly. You are a good mommy to have the gate up so that no one else was hurt. |
Omg... Thank you for sharing your story, I really hope you will be better soon, I know how much burns hurt... Just yesterday I dropped a large sharp knife, and was thinking thank goodness they weren't under foot. Miss Mini knows how to run at any of the danger sounds in the kitchen, she has bore witness to all my kitchen misfortunes! I really don't worry about her but having a new pup...you just made me think, I will be more careful from now on and put my baby gates in kitchen when cooking! Thanks so much for the reminder of how important this is! Take care and feel better soon. |
I am so sorry to hear you were burnt and I hope you recover quickly. I also gate off the kitchen when I am preparing food. Between hot pans and garlic and onions I figure better safe than sorry. |
