Tut just swallows his food and then chocks on it!! What do I do??? Thanks for the help,

Try adding a little water to it. Also I think at Petco they sell food bowls that help to slow down fast eaters.

Farley used to do the same thing, i add water now, and it solved that problem!

Bogie does the same thing and has almost choked to death twice...slow feed bowls..warm water and I grind about half of his portion of kibble in a coffee grinder now too. You do have to add water as it is really fine and he could inhale the ground kibble into his nostrils if you don't wet it.

Ian would eat his kibble in two seconds if it weren't for his Kong Wobbler! We tried the bowl with little compartments (sections), but that didn't really work for him. The Wobbler makes him work for his food, and it now takes him about 10 minutes to eat his 1/4 cup. You can only put dry kibble in it, so if your baby eats can food, it wouldn't work. I need to get two of those, it sure would be the coffee grinding and the mess of wet kibble in beards.

Where do you find a slow feed bowl? I think I may need to do this for Sophie because she will get choked on her food sometimes if she's eating too fast. She also will swallow her food instead of chewing it up sometimes. I didn't even know she did that until one day when she got car sick and threw up and the food was still whole!

I'm not sure what size I have. I'm actually looking for soemthing similar in ceramic or a better quality material than plastic but can't seem to find anything else.

Another thing you can do, that I got from a dog trainer friend of mine is to use 2 or 3 large pebbles in the bowl. When I used to have an inhaler I used this trick & it worked well but you have to find ones that the dog can't get into it's mouth & choke on. I found some glass ice cubes at JoAnnes fabric that were a good size & that's what I used. My friend suggested larger pebbles , like river rock pebbles.
