What is it about a Yorkie? What is it about a Yorkie that makes your heart go awwwwwwwww? :) My friend and I were talking about this the other day. We had heard some Yorkies were going to need new homes. She decides she will take them in until good homes can be found. Which made us think....why do we do anything we can for these sweet babies? So what do you think it is? What is it about a Yorkie that makes you go awwwww. :) |
They are absolutely brilliant, confident, independent, loving , loyal & adventurous :animal37 all packaged in one adorable creation :luvu: :yorkiesar |
Plus that little face has you from day one... |
They love unconditionally, give the absolute best good morning and welcome home kisses, and (all things considered) are so much easier to train than our significant others and our children :) hahaha |
I think for me part of the appeal is that Chloe will forever be my baby. I can hold her in my arms and even find myself swaying as I did when holding my children when they were infants. As my children grow more and more independent they need me less, of course that is the goal of a mother but I find myself missing being needed. Yorkies are clever and sweet with adorable little faces just like my girls were when they were tiny. Yorkies need to be groomed daily have their teeth brushed and they (or at least my little Chloe) need a great deal of attention and thrive on being nurtured. I have another dog that I love dearly but (in spite of feeling guilty) not even close to the way that I love Chloe. I truly didn't believe that it was possible to love a dog the way I love Chloe. So I have actually thought about why Chloe has had this affect on me and I guess it boils down to my need to care for a little one that needs me the way that Chloe does. |
Those big brown eyes can make you melt. I don't know what it is about them, but I'm powerless when I see those big brown eyes. |

Awwwww, I love this! :) I couldn't agree with all of you more. I think they are are babies. :D Rosie is my sweet little girl. She whines when she wants me to hold her. She looks at me with so much love in her eyes. And then there is Mikki who loves her belly rubbed. She will paw at you until you do it. Then look at you sweetly with her little tongue sticking out. How can you not love them? |
What's not to love about them. From their melty chocolate brown eyes to their furry little butts, they are the bundles love, fun and little best friends one could ever ask for. :) |
I think our Yorkies bring out the most loving and protective Mama spirit in us. And this despite some of our Yorkies clearly wanting and being big dogs in little bodies. And I love that about them. Their intrepid spirit, spunk, loving nature, curiousty, active nature just really really appeals to me. I love my Razz dearly. But I will say, my heart dog is my Magic. We are incredibly bonded, with a more (in my mind) equal type of relationship. The protection is a much more equal kind of thing. Magic is a big boy, with a huge guarding instinct in him. I feel very safe when I walk Magic. When I walk RAzz, I do feel much more the protector. Don't get me wrong, I also protect Magic too; but if push were to come to shove; I can let Magic off lead, or drop the lead; and he can hold his own against almost anyone or thing. Razzle I would pick up immediately and try to keep out of harm's way. The way I protect Magic, is to not lead him into "dangerous situations", to be forthright if some-one's elses dogs is being the aggressor to him. This has happened more times than I care to recall. However this is a thread about Yorkies. I will and could never see my life now, without a wonderful little Yorkie in it. |
No other dog has that cute wiggle butt walk like a Yorkie!! :D |

This is pretty much exactly how I feel. Sugar came to me when I deeply needed to be needed again (kids going away to school). She fills every void I have :D |

It is everything about a Yorkie that melts your heart! :hearts6: Absolutely everything! :luvu: I've had lots of different breeds and mixes of dogs and cats and loved them all..some were my heartbeats, too, but Yorkies are like the perfect mix of everything all rolled up into a portable little cuddly body you just want to hold onto and take absolutely everywhere with you! :yorkiesar |

Even non empty nesters fall for these little critters. Kaji came to me at a time when I felt unloved, and unimportant. He sure changed that!!! :) |
:) ditto :) & :) DITTO :) |
I agree with everyone! What's not to love? The second I saw Bear's picture on here, I fell in love instantly! I don't know how, but I knew he was THE ONE! Didn't matter who his breeder was or where he'd been. I was in love with him, and still am! |

To me it's not only because they are my babies and they need me and actually love me without any faults but that they truly are my best friends! They are there for me when I feel lost or just want to have fun! They are there for me just as much as I am there for them! I love them no matter what and I get that love in return from them! No matter what I am there for them the same way they are for me. We all 3 love each other so much and are so close and loyal to one another. They truly complete me in a way I could never be completed before. They make me whole and I can only hope I make them feel the same way. They will always be my true loves and their is nothing in this world I would not do for them as them for me. Roscoe is my protecter, no matter what he will be there for me and I feel safe with him. I would never let him risk anything for me but its the way he feels the need to do so anyways! Sukie is my lover, when I cry she is there to lick my tears, when I laugh she is there to wag her tail and go crazy with me. They are both a part of me that no one else could ever be. I don't know how to truly explain in other then we all 3 complete each other. They truly are my world and I would stop at nothing to show them how much they are my world and univiverse! I feel like I found myself when I met them!! I know that sounds crazy but I had my first child at 16 and my second at 18 I had to go into mommy mode and never at time to find me. THey both have helped me find myself and realize I love myself just as much as they love me. |
Awwwww, isn't it sweet to see how much we all love our furbabies. I think all of us agree that they are what make us whole. Very well said Dazzlingdoodles. :) |

Jada and Bogie came into our lives after our boys were grown, one married and one was in college. I can remember the day my DIL called me from work to tell me that one of their clients had a little girl she wanted to find a good home for. I never saw a picture of her, all I had to go on was what my DIL told me about her. I can't explain it, but I just knew that Jada was mine. The day that my DIL brought her home to me, the minute I saw her it was love at first sight. My husband the germaphobic...we will never have a dog in the house..what do you want with a yappy little dog, macho guy was in love too. The first night I was setting up her kennel area and he said, what are you doing?? I said getting Jada's area ready for her to go to bed. He looked at me like I was insane and said, she is too little to sleep alone, she needs to sleep with us:eek: I was in total shock and she has had him wrapped around her little paws since. It was also his idea to get her a playmate so she wouldn't be lonely..so then came Bogie:p These little loves have us both totally in love with them. They are our kids and always will be. They have brought so much joy into our lives. I can't imagine for one second, life without them in it. DH says I am in my second motherhood with them and I admit he is right.:) |
