Aww, thank you so much! Your very kind words can make someones day. Like mine! I think worrying about her has me so stressed it is taken a toll on me. I have an appointment for Monday at UC Davis for her, that I may have to cancel if I don't pull out of this "stress induced sickness". I've been in bed, not feeling well at all. :sickie: I'll have to re-schedule her appointment. It's unbelievable what stress can do to a person. I hope Bridgett can forgive me.:cry8: |

Bridgett won't be able to forgive you if she gets even sicker. Although you may not be feeling well, you have to pull it together and go, regardless how you feel. Not doing so will only make you feel even WORSE with guilt... |
You need to keep your appointment. Bridgett not only doesnt feel well her life is on the line. |
It's the waiting and not being able to do anything about it yet, feeling helpless, that is making you sick. You will feel much better if you take action, trust me. |

SweetYorkie, I'm so sorry you are feeling unwell - from stress. Act now to help relieve that stress. Calming baths, or showers - what-ever you appreciate most. Give yourself a facial. Watch a comedy and laugh a little. Listen to soothing music. Call up a neighbour and enlist beg if you have to their help on Monday. Try deep breathing. Affirm and know deep down in your heart you can make it through Monday! We are all rooting for you and your wee one. Come on here talk to our members, pm a few, we can help support you with words, with hugs. You can do this! |
I know the situation is very stressful but please remember you are the guardian of this sweet baby. When you brought her into your home you accepted the responsibility for her well being. You are not feeling well but Bridgette is not well. There is a difference, you can change how you feel she can not change that she is deathly ill. Yes Bridgette being so sick is very stressful but all obstacles can be overcome but you must take the first step. You have received a lot of support and help here because many people have gone through similar situations and understand how scary and difficult it can be with a sick baby. If you do not make the appointment the stress will not go away and you might feel added guilt for not having gone. I hope you find the strength to do the right thing and follow through with the appointment. Can you see if any friends or family members can go with you to the appointment? Having someone there for support may give you the strength to overcome your stress. Bless little Bridgette may she get the needed treatment she requires on Monday and may her Mom feel less stressed and find the support network to get through this difficult time. |
I agree with others. You'll feel the weight lifted off your shoulders once you get this done. |
I would think having a dog die in your care would be very stressful. I would not want to have to live with seeing a young dog die in my care when I could have done something to prevent it. That is stress. If you don't feel well enough to take that puppy to the appointment then get someone else to do it for you. I suffer from 3 debilitating illnesses but would not consider neglecting my pet's welfare because of my issues. We have no business owning a pet if we cannot or will not provide the care necessary for their well being. If you are not well enough to provide the care this dog needs then surrender her to a rescue that will. If anything a pet should make you look beyond yourself to making the welfare of another living creature more important than yourself. That is what love is. If you can't do that then let someone else give this dog the love and care she needs. |

It might have taken 'it's toll on you' - but you're not at 'death's door' - as your Littlie might well be. How can you possibly put yourself above a tiny little life that has no say over what happens? :thumbdown IT'S IN YOUR HANDS.....If you can't manage to make it to the appointment - FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN aaargh.....Sally + Harry |
Stress is part of life and a part of life no one can avoid. It's how we handle that stress that affects not only ourselves, but others as well. I hope you do not cancel your appt. It is extremely important that you go. You can collapse afterwards, if still necessary. |
