| Noob here:) Hi all!! I am new to the website and have wanted a yorkie for about 7 years now. I had 3 pups (pek-a-poo, corgi, and maltipoo) but had to rehome them once my hubby got out of the military to go to school. My mom let us keep them in the garage (to her they were just animals) but i felt like that wasn't a good life for them and luckily I was able to find them all great homes. It was difficult but I honestly couldn't have found better homes. I befreinded their new mommys so every now and then they let me know that they are doing great. Since then we finally have a place to call home and we adopted a Maltipoo because I missed the one I rehomed very much and now I will finally be getting a Yorkie baby in February. I am super excited to be getting him. After alot of discussion we have decided to name him Arbie I have his crate, bed, food bowls, and playpen waiting for him. I just need toys and clothing but want to have him and see if he would like to pick the toys himself and also to make sure I get a harness that fits well. Here's a pic of my oldest son and our new addition: |

| This is soooo cute! And I love the name Arbie. He sure is a handsome feller! Sounds like you made a wonderful choice with those pups, and I'm sure Arbie will be treated like royalty in your home. As he should be! Good luck and I can't wait to hear more about your new baby!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Hi welcome to Yorkietalk! What a cute picture of your son and Arbie, they are both adorable. I don't know how old your Yorkie was when you got him, but YTCA recommends a Yorkie stay with the breeder till 12 weeks, in part, because the mother teaches the dog inhibition of the biting reflex. This basically means the mama teaches the puppy not to bite full force. Puppies are teething and love to chew and nibble on hands, and their teeth can be razor sharp. It’s really important that your son understand this and know that the puppy isn’t trying to hurt him, but that his gums are hurting. If you got your puppy before 12 weeks you might have to take some special steps to train the puppy not to bite so hard. Sometimes, it’s easier to hold them if you have a chew toy, so they won’t chew on your fingers. I’ve read where some children are so startled by these bites that they drop the puppy, which can cause serious injury. Anyway, enough lecture, I just wanted to make sure you knew, and welcome, there’s so much to learn here!

| I did my research before taking the leap of adding a baby to our family. As I looked for a local breeder I came upon this website. I was afraid of getting a pup from a bad breeder but she is great. Showed me his lineage met his mom and his dads brother. All her pups and mothers were just so happy and very friendsly. He will be over 12 weeks when he comes home I just love his personality. We have visited him 3 times since we decided he was our pup and he just gets cuter and cuter! It is great to see him running around with his brothers. My husband is in love with his brother, but since I'm the mommy who gets to do all the training, I had the final say. Wish I could take them both home, but I'm pretty sure I can talk the hubby into bringing another one home in a few years. |

| I have also set the same rule the breeder had when handling the little guy. If they want to hold him they have to be sitting on the ground and no walking around holding him because it could hurt him. Both my kids were actually really great with all the pups. I was afraid that they would be too rough, but they surprised me. Even the breeder was surprised at how gentle they were. |
