| Teething=Sleeping? Hi, I was wondering if it was normal for teething to make a puppy a *lot* more tired than usual? I just logged out because it was Bella's "free reign of the house" time, but it didn't last very long because she got tuckered out and wanted to go back to sleep. ...but she had woken up not that long ago! She's teething, and has lost 1 little baby tooth (stepped on it in my socks, ouch)...so I know the others are doing the same. ...is that why she's so sleepy? She's not lethargic, just sleepy. (her blood sugar is fine) |

| Abby has been sleeping a lot too! She starting teething at Thanksgiving and was growing a lot then(5 months) and is now working on the canines (6 1/2 months)They have come in without the baby teeth falling out- she is quite uncomfortable, I smashed her kibble as she wasn't eating (unusual for her!)and she is not playing tug with Ziva anymore. My daughter froze some wet strips of fleece for her to chew- she seems to like that. The nylabones seem too hard. She is such a sweet dog that she is not acting irritable but I remember Ziva(2 1/2) being a handful at that time ! Her spay is set up for 1/24 -the vet will take the extra teeth out then. |

| Gracie Ruth slept more during her teething. She also whined a lot. She really seemed to be in a lot of discomfort. I'd freeze wet wash clothes for her to chew on. I also would put her favorite plushie toy, Duckie, in the freezer for awhile to make it colder. She'd just walk slowly through the house with Duckie in her mouth making the most pitiful little cries. It just broke my heart to see her like that. I also cracked her kibble so that it was easier for her to eat. Although they ate the same type of food, Boo thought she was getting something special to eat, so I'd crack some for him too. Now Yogi, the only sign I had that he was teething was that his ears drooped at times. He never seemed to slow down and he certainly didn't need his kibble cracked.

| Hi all, Thank you for all the input! After reading your entries, I feel much better in regard to her behavior. I'm sure she's just teething, as she's a bit cranky and tired, but everything else seems right as rain. Thanks again!! I'll put some of her softer toys in the freezer for a while and see if that helps. |

| She probably is feverish. I used to freeze chew toys and wet wash cloths for Kacee's feverish gums. She had a lot of pain while teething. Some have more trouble than others.
